BestBuy price matched after item went on sale the next day - still waiting for Citi to provide a credit. I would like to return the device - do NOT like being forced to use Facebook as an authentication mechanism. Would rather use the STEAM store than the oculus store. I likely won't use this - very disappointing purchase very disappointing customer experience. I'm kind of hoping someone from Bestbuy contacts me about my less than great experience as of late.

Unstable. Frequent crashes in the middle of gaming. Generated head tracking errors so often it borders on being unusable at times. Updated both firmware and graphics card drivers, and tried numerous online suggestions to fix. It’s a common problem. Some have been successful using developer modes to fine tune and tweak. For me it was not worth spending more time troubleshooting or changing PC components for a product that is being discontinued by Oculus/Facebook.

I have a decent gaming pc that has always been stable. The Rift s gave me the black-outs problems that everyone is complaining about. After troubleshooting for MANY hours and trying (and buying) 2 x pci usb interfaces, it still gives me the occasional blackout. Lots of speculation can be found online on the origin of the problem by many people complaining about the same issues, mostly it seems related to usb power and overload of controllers (it is running cameras, audio and video all in 1 usb).

So where to start. This is an absolute downgrade to the last model. The lack of external sensors makes this a nightmare for tracking. This product is obviously not ready for market. Random issues will arise constantly. I’m currently plagued with an issue where the screen looks like someone turned the darkness all the way down and the awesome makes of this product thought it to be a great idea to not include display options that include brightness and color saturation.

software support on this is bad. constantly having compatibility issues. My computer is fairly new as well.

When it works is great. But a lot of time the screen doesn’t work. A lot of down time trying to get the blue light to come on and show display

I purchased the Rift S after having the original Rift for along time until our cable went bad on the original. Well after the 2nd day of owning this Rift S I noticed some Artifacting in the display. It progressed to be much worse quickly to where within a few days I had to return the device. I took very good condition of it and thr cord so it must have been a manufacturer defect but to happen so quickly was very disappointing.

It works great when it works. I would lose hand tracking quite often or I would get the static screen, which I would have to unplug to reset.

This has been nothing but issues. Need to call for service. This is the second time. I returned the first and received a new one. It just doesn't work. I installed in a new laptop Alienware top of the line and has all the components for this to work. It keep jamming and stopping. I'm not happy. My son will have to decide. Thankfully I purchased for the second time the protection for this.

The gaming is awesome graphics are great, poorly made having issues and won’t turn on waiting for oculus to fix..

Since then I haven’t been able to get help from Best Buy or oculus. I’ve given up and this investment sits in a box collecting dust.

Bought this for my son. Turns out it requires a Facebook account. When my son started signing up for Facebook, it was asking him a LOT of personal information. As a parent, I don't believe it is right for a company to require a child to expose that much confidential data. Returning to store. Facebook, shame on you.

If your computer is not having dedicated display port and graphics card. Device is not for you. It’s graphics and power hungry.

Unable to test this device! Little did i know Oculus is owned by FaceBook and with out a account you can not set up or operate the head set. I don't think you should have to participate in social media to enjoy VR but Zuckerburg does! Won't work with windows mixed reality portal no driver or hardware detection! No steam VR with out FaceBook. (No like here) Returned unit for refund!

it's all fun and games till your controllers stop working... Literally hooked it up, not even 5 minutes later, do the controllers stop responding. Plenty of light in the room, controllers work, but the cameras don't recognize when your hands are moving. Save yourself the time, and don't purchase this once, get the quest 2 instead. Especially for the same price. Would rate a 0 if I could

Was too difficult to connect to any computer. Tech spec were way over my head.

Unfortunately it was not compatible with my daughters gaming computer.

Difficult to connect and use for a beginner. Seems to not work all the time, not sure if it is us or the system.

It worked great for 30 minutes then the left controller went crazy. It wouldn't track and was jumping all over the place. I contacted Oculus support on 7/1/2020. I answered all of their questions and provided all the info they asked for. It is now 7/9/2020 and their support has not responded since 7/2/2020. I am returning this product to the store and will not purchase another Oculus product.

Don't bother buying this junk! Waist of money! On my second one in less than a year! Sound have bought the vive.
