Perfect for getting the feel of vr!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great entry level vr headset. Doesn’t overheat nor is there any microphone issues. Tracks quite perfectly, even in low light. The guardian system tends to reset often for me but you can easily turn it off. Very fun to use and easy to get use to wearing for prolonged period of times. Fits over glasses!

Good buy, cheap price
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A very goos buy if you want to experience the vr world. Only downfall is that you are limited when it comes to whether you want fulk body tracking or not. Better to buy the vive if you want full body tracking. However this is a good buy at a cheap price.

Setup was an issue, but it finally got sorted out
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup took took longer than it should have. Lots of errors during the install and update process. Finally got it to update, and had crashes with every game for the rest of the day. We had to constantly unplug and plug in the USB and Display port cables to get it to recognize the headset. Frustrated, I deleted the Oculus program from the computer and reinstalled it. It installed and updated quickly and without a hiccup. Since then, we've had ZERO crashes. My son has been playing mainly Half-Life Alyx and Minecraft VR, and FNAF now for three days without incident. For the price, it's been an amazing VR experience once we go past the initial setup issues. The on board sensors track extremely well. The headset is fairly light and comfortable. Best of all it plays well with Steam VR. If it wasn't for the janky setup issues, the Rift S would have gotten 5 stars easily.

Nice upgrade
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So comparing this to the original rift, this one in my opinion is much better. Graphics are noticeably better. However audio could use improving. This one does have a headphone jack that supports your own headphones which is a huge plus. It is comfortable. It also has an option so you can actually see your surroundings through the vr mask instead of having to remove it to walk somewhere. Also, if your USB ports are set to sleep after sometime while the computer is on, turn them off or you oculus will go black in the middle of a game.

Wait for the Rift Quest 2
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The device was faulty upon opening, one of the wires inside the headset for the USB device was improperly manufactured and failed to power the device correctly. It worked twice before ultimately failing. Software was hard to install, the oculus download is hidden on their site and required a bit of googling. There was no option to change the primary drive of installation and it required a cmd command in their help manual to change this. Silly when it could of just been part of their software gui. Aside from that, the headset is now officially phased out by Oculus. They are no longer manufacturing the rift s and are going forward with the Rift Quest 2. Please do not buy this headset and instead wait for the cheaper Rift Quest 2. I returned this order due to USB failure but would like to inform other potential buyers this headset is no longer being manufactured.

The best band for your buck PCVR only headset
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For $399 you can't beet the Rift S. It has a great display with a RGB sub pixel display and 80Hz. It doesn't require any external sensors at all. You just plug it in and it works. This headset is the device that got me hooked on VR. I now own the Oculus Go, Quest, and Rift S. I am also on the waiting list to buy a Valve Index. Once I get my Index in 3 months I will be keeping this headset jsut because it's so easy to use. I want a backup PCVR headset incase I ever have issues with my Index.

Awesome!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great graphics, fairly comfortable headset. The controllers do eat batteries but that's about the only downside.

1st Time VR
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first VR headset and it has been great. The picture is extremely clear and the controllers are very sensitive, in a good way. I like that I don't have to set up sensors. It works great without them. The passthrough is an awesome feature that let's me see things around me. At times there has been glitches that I've needed to reload the software and check my monitor resolution (trust me, it'll make sense when you have one). I haven't experienced any major drawbacks. It's just what I envisioned when I purchased it.

Oculus Rift VR Headset
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Oculus Rift is a good value compared to other brands. The resolution is not the best, but worth the added level of immersion by adding g VR nto the game. The only issue is the USB needs to be unplugged and repluggedoccasionally for the PC to recognize the headset when not used for a while.

The best so far
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've only ever owned the VR headsets that use your phone. This is amazing. My one complaint is that most updates seem to require the complete uninstallation and reinstallation of the software and drivers to get it working again. That is a bit frustrating, but once you are back in the experience, well worth the effort.

great unit, bought both this and quest
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought both the rift s and the quest. rift s is more comfortable. nice not having a cord with quest but even though the quest has a slightly higher resolution the rift s is crisper and just seems more real. assuming the slightly higher frame rate makes it crisper but who knows. oculus just announced a cord for quest to connect to a computer for playing triple a games. but then your back to a cord and more uncomfortable. returning the quest. I guess in a year or 2 maybe cordless will catch up.

It's Great! But....
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My son loves this headset. Clear, realistic enough that he stumbles all over doing whatever it is VR gamers do. Sleek. I was very impressed by the box and positioning. #fancy The BIGGEST issue hands down, is the connection port required. No USB or HDMI like normal people. No. They decided that HDMI, Android, and USB had a baby, called DisplayPort, Yay!! The list of what's included is misleading and when he opened it Christmas Day, he wasn't able to play it because our laptop was too "old" (2016-ish). I panic bought 3 different possible adapters on Amazon - no go. Between USB-C, DisplayPort, MINI DisplayPort, HDMI - I don't know XYZ either. NOT to mention the journey I took just to BUY it. That's a whole different rambling topic. Outcome? He needed a new laptop anyway, I guess. And the only way to ensure that I bought a compatible laptop......he got a gaming laptop. Do YOU KNOW WHAT THOSE STUPID THINGS COST? I digress. Do your research!
