Great VR experience
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used to use my VR Gear for my phone, and that was enough to impress me. However, now that I switched to this PC-Powered device, I can see a huge difference and I love it. I just wish there was a way to turn it off when I'm no longer using it since it wastes battery on the controllers.

Great!

Glad I bought this!
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this for a single game (No Man's Sky) and found I couldn't play it without getting ill. Other games I have no issues with, however, and it's really fun. The best thing is, I can have any house party I want any time, and I don't have to go out and rent movies or games or anything (yes, it's still a thing in the midwest) because I just plug this thing in and watch everyone blow their minds! It's super fun!

Pretty good
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the first week this was amazing. After the original wow factor of this product, I found that the lenses blur easily and sometimes it can be glitchy but it’s still amazing and revolutionary, only reason I’m picky is because a 500$ price tag is not cheap for a gaming add-on

Great Product and lots of Fun!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I enjoyed this product a lot, as it was fun to play and really immersive! I can’t say too much about it because my computer didn’t have a DisplayPort port, so I had to get an adapter which is apparently not supported by Oculus. However, the quality of the Rift S is still worth the money! If you want something that has a lot of potential for growth, but is already amazing then this would be perfect!

Great for easy play
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for our sons and their friends. Easy to setup and begin playing once all the updates were installed. The built in cameras in the headset work great and they have had no issues. They like that they can play in their room since you draw your border/play area before game starts. We dis purchase retractable ceiling pulls to keep the headset wire up and away from arms while playing. Overall good start to home VR.

Good for the price.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Oculus rift s is a good VR headset. It is my first VR headset and I have enjoyed the experience thus far. I will say that it had a rocky launch software side and that is why I give this headset 4 stars. Overall a good product and I would recommend it for someone looking to start VR.

Ran on a decent spec PC
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.IF you have a decent pc the things you can throw at this headset is really fun. Played multiple games on it, and it is great. Now obviously theres other options, but i wanted this since the first time it came out a few years ago. Controls feel great. 5/5 would buy again, but they are discontinuing this certain model. and i will end up getting a quest 2 eventually due to the higher resolution.

Totally awesome
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ordered the Oculus Rift S for my son as a Christmas gift on Dec. 21 and it arrived much faster than I was expecting (23rd) which was great! The Oculus is amazing and it has taken my sons gameplay to a whole new level. He is so happy with it and it makes for great family fun! I totally recommend if you have a PC so that you can take your gaming to the next level. Great price too.

Good quality
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Much better quality than the cheap Quest 2 build. Use a cheap velcro strap from Amazon to strap the cord to the back for a more cordless feeling. Doesn't make your head red, have batteries that go dead or hurt like the quest 2 does after two hours. Comes with cord so you don't have to pay another $80 to hook it to your computer. We won't ever see this quality again with oculus.

Oculus rift s
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The only problem I’m having is every time I turn on Oculus I have to unplug and plug in my usb cable, I checked online and everyone is having the same problem, my guess it’s a software problem, and it’s way to long for Oculus to fix the problem other than that it’s great

Thorough review!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The overall use of the Rift S is easy enough to setup and use. Cons - The comfort level of wearing the VR headset for extended periods of time makes it unbearable after about 6-8 hours of use, even if you’re not an avid user, the comfort level is subpar. It tends to hurt around the underparts of your eyes and/or cheeks. The cushioning of the face section is like a spongey type feeling which is also kind of grainy against the skin especially once you start sweating. The clip that is meant to keep the wire/cord in place while in use is cheap and breaks pretty much out of the box. Once you lose that clip and do not have sufficient means to hold the cable back then the cable starts to become an issue with getting in your way and getting caught up on yourself or other things like a chair if you’re sitting. The lens get dirty and easily so make sure to have a lens cleaner, like one you’d use for glasses as to not scratch or mess up the lens too badly. The audio quality isn’t all that great and was very soft in my experience. When it comes to the microphone, I never ran into an issue with it since I already knew going in that the microphone is one of the Rift S huge flaws which tends to end up just being a piece of junk and I had on hand an external microphone source. The VR visor and headband that wraps around your head feels like a very cheap plastic. It seems to be very sensitive if you make any sudden movements and could easily snap at the visor end which would inevitably cause your device to cease to function or not function properly. My end overall honest opinion of the VR headset: - Is it worth it compared to Quest and Quest 2? Yes. It is worth the money and will be able to do more than either the Quest or Quest 2. *For example VRChat for Quest/Quest 2 users is a poor experience for them and are unable to see PC avatars or go to PC worlds. Audio problems and microphone problems tend tit arise frequently with all Oculus products. - Would it be good for most of not all VR games? Yes but at the end of the day it also comes down to your PC specs. *Example would be VRChat, that game heavily depends on having a very good CPU and would recommend at minimum 16GB RAM but suggest 32GB. It’s a game that is very heavily dependent on CPU and RAM. I have a 1080ti, 32GB RAM, and an i7-6700k. It took up about 80% more or less of CPU, about 50-60% of my RAM, and about 70% of my GPU. - Should I get this over Quest and Quest 2? Yes, definitely! - Is this as good as HTC Vive or any of the HTC products? I would say in some aspects but overall? No. - What VR headset would you recommend out of all of them? In reality if you could afford the price or had no price restriction, I would recommend the Valve Index hands down. If you cannot afford the Valve Index then the next winner would be the HTC Vive Pro or the HP Reverb G2. *Keep in mind all these MUST have a decent PC/Desktop. I’d recommend at least a 1060 or better for all of these and CPU at least an i5 or better. I generally don’t recommend AMD or use AMD products so you’ll have to do your own research. At the end if you’re looking for a reasonably priced headset the Rift S is a good choice but if you’re looking for something with better visual quality and close to the same price get the HP Reverb 2. Again make sure you have a desktop PC with reasonable specs before making this purchase. If you do not have a desktop PC then you’re best bets will be the Quest 2 but don’t expect amazing results or quality compared to its bigger brothers.

Quite realistic, and fun for some of us
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a cool, high tech toy that the whole family may enjoy. I say may because one of the four of us found that this made him dizzy for some time after minor use. Another didn't even want to try it. The other two, however, find it fun.

Nice upgrade
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Much nicer picture than the original Rift, but still can see the pixels. Like not having the sensors so there is much better 360 tracking. Head set tends to get loose when active (like Beat Saber) Very easy to upgrade from original Rigt

Comfort and Control
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought the Rift S for my son for Christmas, and he absolutely loves it. He wasn't interested in the Oculus Quest 2 like my other son due to the graphics, and I believe it is better that he can only use it on his PC. While the Quest 2 is great, it is difficult to limit time on it since it can be used anywhere. The headset on the Rift S is much more comfortable as well.

Great headset if you can find it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great VR headset, with the wonderful ability to enter the virtual world without having extra mini accessories. Easy to set up with the right computer, and can do both oculus and steam games. Major downsides: buy some rechargeable batteries, because you will drain 2 in about a week or less, depending on play time; expect a 6.5'x6.5' play space near your computer to play some games effectively.
