I have owned severial VR head sets before I owned this one they all had diffrent problems such as tracking, a low resolution, ect. But the rift s has none of these problems. The set up was very simple I pluged in 2 cables and downloaded the Oculus software and everything just worked! There was no need to set up any conplcated sensors as the rift s is tracked by the sensors on the head set.

If you want the best bang for your buck, this is definitely what you want. Especially if you are skeptical about stepping into the VR market. You can play any game you want that is VR compatible. Almost. Some games that are VR compatible, but aren't dedicated can be glitchy. Make sure there is plenty of lighting and enough space when playing. You can play most games while seated or standing. But it's definitely better if you have lots of space to move around. This is especially prevalent in shooting games. My only gripes about this, is that, if you tweak the brightness too much, you get a washout effect. And the other one is the viewing angle is not very wide 80° (VS 90° and 120° viewing angles on the other VR headsets), and the digital viewing angle cannot be manipulated like it says it can. That's something they really need to fix.

this is a really fun device. to me, the software is a bit finicky but it really is enjoyable. I just wish it did a lot more than it does. its very fun tho. I hope they come out with a 3rd version for the PC

The rift S is light years ahead of the first model, I always wanted one and jumped on it quickly. The thing that bugged me was that sometimes the cables would weigh your head down and the lenses could get dirty really quickly if stored improperly. Never happened to me but I had a headset stand and the lenses would still get dirty. No clue how and washing the lenses needs to be done in a certain way or else you'll get godrays. My big beef with it is the software required. Oculus doesn't have a lot of games on the store and steamvr crashes constantly. I spent more time trying to set it all up Everytime I wanted to play than I did actually playing. But boy when I was playing. It was super fun! I say give it a few years. It will be prime.

I believe it's the best VR headset for the money its a shame that Facebook is discontinuing support for it. I would get it now while available. steam will still support it and they have more VR games than facebooks oculus

No one can be told what the matrix is.... you have to see it for yourself. VR is really amazing. I bought this and got the Star Trek Bridge Crew and Elite Dangerous. I feel like I’m there! Controlles are easy to use and the resolution in the headset is great! I wish the cable was a little longer. It does have a mic built-in and you can hear the sound from the headset but it sounds better with headphones.

I had it for a while, but I gave it to my little brother to play with. Bought another vr headset(reverb G2) a few moths ago. When I first got it as my first headset, it was great. Visuals were fine for what it was back then, but now compared to the G2, its a major difference in visual. The rift s has better tracking than my G2 by a long shot. The G2 clarity is beyond better than the rift s, but the tracking is nothing compared to rift s. At the end of the day, just get a quest 2. Heard its better. Only thing I liked about it, was how easy I was able to just able to put it on and play the games right away.

Wow, virtual world look so real in this Oculus Rift S. It takes a little to get use to ,but you'll get the hang of it. Can't wait to get some games for it soon. I always wanted to see what everyone was talking about, with this system. I love it. I think everyone should at least try one sometime to see what it is like. It's definitely a whole new world of gaming.

My daughter loves this oculus headset. We got it for her because she doesn’t get much exercise since quarantine and distance learning with schools being closed and no where to go. She is very active on it. We have bought several games and they are really cool. The graphics are awesome. She had me try it on and it felt like I was really in the action. Overall, awesome.

Was looking for a replacement for my original rift. I tried vive cosmos elite and the rift S. Ended up returning vive cosmos. The rift s is much better with tracking. Still don’t love VR, but the rift S makes it much more enjoyable.

A Bit Better and A Good Value

Ok, so I own the original Oculus and now this. I would say the graphics appear better with less of a screen door appearance. The tracking though is not as good as the original and I think the external tracking system provided a more fluid experience. I also found a problem with the new connectors. They have bulky ends and do not fit my gaming laptop. Once I was able to hook it up we were unsuccessful in getting it to work with the laptop. Switched to my desktop and had no problems. I do like having the ability to see my virtual surrounding but setting up the virtual wall was a bit tricky compared to the original. Overall, even with its flaws, I’ve rated it four stars simply because the technology is amazing and the platform provides plenty of interactive experiences. It is slightly improved over the original but I think they were trying to achieve a price point and cut corners to do so.

This headset is pretty solid in general, and fantastic as a starter headset. It’s priced competitively and offers great performance per dollar. 4 starts because it took me a while to figure it out, but I’m sure there is a Manual I was too stubborn to read.

This was my first VR headset. I heard great things and I was very disappointed. When it worked Beat Saber and Super Hot was fun but the tracking and software had frustrating glitches and crashed. Reading online it seems this was a small % of headsets including mine. It was not worth the hassles/ troubleshooting for me so I returned it. I was also underwhelmed by the clarity and overall graphics. I understand it is not going to look as good as a PC, Xbox One X or PS4 Pro as VR has to render much more then a flat panel display but it was like looking through a screen door ( I understand this happens in VR) into PS4/ Xbox 360 gameplay. I will be interested in VR in the future but I feel it is not quite there.

Pros: Major visual improvement, More comfortable and adjustable headset. (Glasses fit without scratching Yay!) Controllers are smaller (good for me but could be bad for someone with large hands) It does a good job of keeping outside light out Cons: Did not work with a few of my games, (Tracking issues) Its easy to accidentally remove battery cover on the controllers while gaming. Audio is bad enough that you require external ear buds for full immersion. Don't really like the redesign of the controllers After a few hours my nose and cheek areas became uncomfortable due to the plastic. Foam faceplate is not as thick as on the original headset Over all I really liked it (visuals are awesome) but did ultimately return the set as it is more important to me to be able to play the games I own. Highly recommend this if you are just getting into VR. I will be waiting for the next version.

Absolutely awesome VR accessory. My son purchased this and described it as possibly the best PC purchase he's made (and that's with building his own computer and quite a few additional purchases of accessories and games). Based upon my own demo with the Rift, I agree with his assessment. Price wasn't too bad either, since we found it on sale.
