This thing is crazy. The fact it has the cameras on the headset itself means the tracking is on point. When you break the play area you can see your surroundings without taking off the headset. Ive let my 11yr old daughter play beatsaber and it fits her perfectly. I would suggest buying the silicone sweat protector, having that foam area covered in sweat is gross lol

Good upgrade from the Rift. BUT. What a disappointment on sound. The built in speakers on the previous with a far superior. I don’t want to have use my own headphones. Have enough wires already. The screen door effect is definitely less than the predecessor. My only complaint is the sound. Oculus could’ve done way better on that. All in all it’s not bad.

My brother has used this for almost two months and he loves this. It's comfortable and the speakers are loud. It's easy to control. The only con is that sometimes it glitches and the hands (controllers) get stuck on the ground or won't move. It doesn't happen often though, and I usually fix this by just restarting the oculus.

VR has come a long way, but still has a ways to go. This headset is a bit bulky still but not completely uncomfortable. The graphics and movements are good, even with the cord attached to the PC. It's long enough so doesn't seem to get in the way. The games will hopefully continue to be improved overtime but like the VR concept.

Easy to use VR gaming headset and compatible with your computer, Just be careful of your surrounding and what is around you, so you don't run into anything when you have the headset on. If you have motion sickness, this can cause it when you wear it too long and might depend on the game too.

Im giving this 4 stars even though i had to return it. The product is solid, coming from a Rift (CV1) to this was amazing. Minimal screen-door-effect, very comfortable halo-strap, but very lacking audio. The problem is the IPD setting is not manual and it was just shy of mine, making it not a comfortable experience for me, but if your IPD matches up you will enjoy this system. Also as a side note, Oculus (Facebook) has discontinued the rift line which is a shame, they will focus on the quest 2 , so be mindful of that , and by 2023 you will need to merge occulus account with facebook I went with a Hp Reverb G2 preorder to fill my pc needs but you need a beast of a gpu for that, this is a very nice mid-level pcvr experience

Setup was easy, works with the Oculus store and Steam (as long as the game works with Oculus). Didn't have any issues connecting this up to my desktop. Only had very few tracking issues that sort themselves out quickly.

The Oculus Rift S is amazing. I have the Original but this one doesn’t need sensors to track you. It tracks with cameras in the actual goggles. Plus tap that Oculus button twice and you can see without taking the goggles off because of the 5 cameras on it. It’s brilliantly made and love it.

You’ll need a decent PC for the Rift S. You may want to visit your favorite gaming forum or subreddit and start researching and asking about specs. But now, there is the Rift S and the Valve Index for PC gaming (and to a lesser degree, the wireless Quest)(and there is the HTC Vive which I don’t know much about). And there’s PlayStation VR, which is decent and affordable, if slightly less good visually. Point being, these are all good options to jump into VR gaming, and there are games to support them all. The quality is really enjoyable. The Rift S is a great sweet spot of features and quality without being the most expensive option, but again, you need decent PC specs. You can get the quest without a good gaming PC, but there are gaming drawbacks and compatibility issues. The PlayStation VR might be a good option if you don’t have the $$$ for a good gaming PC. But if you have a good gaming PC, I highly recommend the Rift S

Great VR headset. Make sure your computer has a display port and it's connected to your GPU. Built in speakers are let down. Headset is really comfortable. I had gotten rid of the original Quest for this headset and it was worth it. If you're in the market for a VR headset today, you might want give the Quest 2 a look.

The Oculus Rift S was simple to set up and it made the perfect birthday gift for my son. I only have one complaint and that is the controllers do not turn off, no switch, doesn't time out, so the only way to keep the batteries in them from dying every other day is unplug the USB cord from the computer or remove the batteries from the controllers every night.

I was debating between buying this or the Valve Index and I do not regret this at all. I feel spending the extra $600 or so on the Index would not have benefitted me. I am experiencing a weird issue where it seems I am hearing a radio station through my headset? It's odd, but I tune it out. Regardless, it's an amazing VR headset.

So far it’s been pretty smooth and am satisfied with the tracking and visual quality. I was between the htc vive and I thought the higher resolution from the rift s was my deciding factor here. Although the refresh rate on the htc is slightly faster. Either way both are a good entry point without having to go full out on the pro devices. I recommend the rift s.

I have had 2 other VR headsets and this is by far the best I have tried. I had the PSVR amd the Samsung VR. Both were cool but this one blows them away. Screan door effect is so much better. The graphics are great. It works with steam. I bought a game called "Contractors", ots like being in Counter Strike, so fun! Great price!

I love it. Had some initial issues with getting it to connect to my PC reliably, but Oculus customer service was very attentive and helped troubleshoot and solve the issue pretty quickly. Issue turned out to be a missing windows update from 4 months prior that windows didn't tell me I was missing. Headset works as it should now and I've been enjoying it. My only gripe is I really wish the controllers had at least 1 additional button each. I feel like some games would control better if they had that. Overall, right now Sept 2020, you can't find a better headset in the price range, unless you wait for the new quest, which offers pcvr once you spend an additional 100 dollars on the required cable.

Poor quality, Technology isn't "there" yet

It's funny, I think these things are going the way of the 3D television. It's a good idea ..... when it's working properly. Extremely glitchy and not user friendly. Also there' a conundrum here.... the graphics are blurry and low resolution. HOWEVER, imagine if they were Sharp and Clear would it be any better? The blurryness kind of helped add to the realism because everything looked softer, but even if they were to improve the graphics, would it strip away that buffer the blurriness provides between what looks like CGI and what looks like Reality? But then the downside is, you're walking around in a blurry world. So I think just like 3D TV's, the technology for Home Use isn't quite there yet. And the odd thing is, the viewing panel isn't even 4K....you're think it would at least be that or even 8 or 16k but probably has to do with the games requiring so much hardware to run even at the low resolution they're at. So I returned mine and am waiting until the technology is at a place that justifies the extremely high price tag.
