Graphics resolution is better, but only an incremental upgrade. Getting rid of the lighthouse tracking helped save USB ports on my laptop, but does have tracking issues now.

I didn't get to keep this. I thought my laptop had the right setup, but the thunderbolt port wasn't right for this connection. I did get to try it on, though. I exchanged it for the Quest 2, which I like, but the Rift is much more comfortable (less heavy).

It only worked once or twice on my laptop. Make sure that it will work with your hardware.

The original oculus needed too much PC side resources. This one uses one USB 3.0 and one DisplayPort socket. My only wish is that the resolution of the screen was 50% higher.

Much better than the previous rift. Wish they had kept some features of the original head set like iris adjustment on the headset instead of software.

So darn awesome and great price. It is no longer available new but those who are lucky enough to have one of these will certainly love it too!! Requires a Facebook account because FB owns Oculus but the Rift S VR is so freaking great!!

I've had the Rift S for about a month now, and I love it. My only gripe is the built in audio. It really isn't that bad, but I would have liked to have seen built in headphones like the CV1. Other than that, it's great.

Tons of fun.. but kind of wish id got the Quest2 since it can be used with or without a PC where the Rift S must remain tethered to the PC.

VR is still in it's infancy so expect a few bumps along the way. But once you get it setup and working it is a lot of fun

Still kinda glitchy which made me have to reset multiple times just trying to get through a game, but other than that it’s really fun and a great way to entertain guests

Service and product was great. We ordered online and were able to pick up the product at the store later that day. We opted for curbside pickup. They came out and verified who we were and put our product in the back seat for us. She was very nice.

Who could have imagine it even a few years back that the 3D virtual gaming will takeover the world by storm. And who else to develop the best product other than Oculus for masses to enjoy at such a affordable price. A must have for gaming enthusiasts. Thumbs up

Upgraded from the Rift to this Rift S and wow. No more god rays, legible was text, and must more comfortable. No more hassle with sensors. One draw back is the audio. Old rift had quality and loud audio. These built in speakers are QUIET But I use earbuds and thats good enough.

I owned the original, CV1 Rift and really liked it but it was showing its age so I decided to take the plunge and try the Rift S. First let me start by saying this is not a Huge Upgrade from CV1, this is more like a very minor tweak from CV1 so if you're looking for some huge improvements don't consider the Rift-S or the Quest 1 or 2. None of those are huge improvements. As far as the improvements I do see, the text is clearer and not having to use sensors around my space is nice. I do on occasion find the camera's loose tracking but nothing devastating. But if you play competitively you will want to steer away from the camera only models as you will notice this far more often in those environments. The colors are fine, I really don't care about shades of black or overall color warmth. Do colors show up? Yes. Are they washed out or faded or blurry? No. Pass through is nice to play with and there is a slight delay between what you see and the actual real world. No big deal though. Finger tracking is there but not enabled and not used. I think facebook is not going to let devs use it on any headset EXCEPT the quests so there's that. There is a requirement that forces you to create a facebook account starting somepoint in 2020. Thankfully I don't have one nor do I want one. Its bad enough the system sends everything installed on your computer and run through the Oculus app to facebook everytime you launch the app but to also force me to use your piece of junk facebook? No thanks. This SHOULD be a HUGE factor if you are considering just starting out in VR. If you were to ask me my view I would say don't go with the Facebook models and instead go with any of the others out there. You might pay a little more BUT you won't be forced to share you life with peeping tom zuckerborg. The controls are worse and feel very VERY cheap and I find they roll away far to easy when you set them down. If you still feel strongly about getting a facebook vr headset i would strongly recommend setting up your firewall to block all facebook and oculus related programs from accessing the internet.

This is better than the Original Oculus which I purchase a few years ago, in that it doesn't need the external plug in sensors, so you can move around much more freely. However; the majority of the time when turning on my PC, the headset and/or the controllers don't get detected, so I have to disconnect them (sometimes repeatedly) until they get detected by oculus software. (It's very annoying) But once connected and detected it works fine.

better head strap than the original rift. It is a much needed upgrade from the original oculus rift. It is sad that this will be discontinued.
