Quality design for the price tag, the above the ear speakers are surprisingly better quality than I anticipated. Though you can still plug in headphone should you wish through the 3.5mm port in the front. The cameras for tracking do a fantastic job keeping up and the lens screens are relatively good for their intended purpose. While you do feel it resting on your head it doesn't feel like it's weighing down or pulling in the front. I like the feel of the touch controllers but the way the straps secure around your wrist are not suited for more games that need you to make fast motions. While the magnets are strong to hold the battery covers in place, these also run the risk of coming off if not holding the controller tightly during quick motions. Minor things overall that don't hurt the device overall. Now for awareness, I'm someone who generates a lot of heat which leads to the lens' fogging up and moisture building up on the gasket. I suggest getting either anti-fogging wipes or spray to help with that. If you want to keep the foam around the gasket clean I would recommend covers from VR covers. Appears the latest Oculus software causes issues with the Guardian feature resetting, you can opt out of setting it up after setting the floor level.

Better than "Sliced Bread!" I had a Playstation VR, and there is NO COMPARISON! The rift S FAR exceeds any expectations that i had. Super easy set up. + you can sit it down, not play for a few days, and place it RIGHT back on you're head. No adjustment, no nothing. Couldn't do that with PS4 VR. Games are vast. Whatever you prefer.

The Oculus Rift S is currently the easiest way to get into PC VR. The much lower price and easy set up alone make this a no-brainer for me to recommend to others. There are no external base stations to set up, all the tracking is done from the headset. I have experienced almost no issues, though I did have an issue with Minecraft VR. Some research online helped find a solution to that, though.

I absolutely love it! This is so much fun! I would say that it is well worth it just for Beat Saber alone. The system fits comfortably and is easy to use. I would definitively recommend to double check your specs for compatibility, as I was able to run it on one PC but have issues on my other PC. An absolute favorite for Family Game Night!

I like Oculus. I had the Rift CV1. I bought this as a replacement for that. All though this isn't a full upgrade the visuals are much better. Easy to flset up. For the person just getting into VR this is the best way if you have a gaming computer.

Great headset. Very powerful, quick and great graphics (depends on your computer). Only issue is the cord but it is manageable. Game selection is big but there aren't a ton of really good games only a handful.

I was really blown away by this item. First, it was very easy to install and load into my computer. Second, the tutorials were incredible and so helpful. Third, the end result is incredible visuals and performance. There are more free software available than there are for purchase. I would strongly recommend the Oculus Rift S to anyone.

great upgrade. borders/edges are still blurry. a buddy in the biz tells me this is the limitation of the fresnel lens. text is clear, as is the action in non vr titles. your home space and vr games suffer some lack of definition but its still pretty spectacular. the lobby or home area of occulus is better than the steam vr space, imho, after using both for a while today. more control , at least intuitive control, to nav around in oculus space. steam space feels like an ad, just like the pc client. oculus def makes it easy to buy stuff, but at least you have lots of functionality even before you open the store menu. got this on sale for 350.00 and it was a pretty good pickup especially compared to other vr systems. i needed to build a whole new computer to run it all at max, but not like i hated that. its a choice a lot of people considering the rift-s will make. attn kaspersky users, or any internet security software which monitors webcams. if you tighten security like i do, to give you a pop up when an app tries to control your webcam, be advised the rift is identified by kaspersky at least, as a webcam. i found out the hard way that blocking webcam access kind of makes the rift into a hat. its not my cam it wanted, but the sensors on the rift.

The rift s builds on a solid foundation that was the original rift. It has better resolution, almost no screen door effect. More comfortable. No sensors needed which is a huge plus. Sound is not as good as the original rift but you can use your own headphones if you need louder or better quality sound. I would say it’s a solid update when compared to original rift.

I actually prefer this over my original Oculus Rift. Not having to setup the base stations is really nice and I'm not noticing any loss in tracking when I am flinging my arms about. The slight increase in resolution is welcome and the sightly longer cable helps to not need an extender for my play area.

Great resolution, tracking, and you won’t notice the cable the majority of the time. You can’t go wrong with the Rift S, unless you are prone to motion sickness, in which case, either spend an additional $400 (cybershoes) - $4,000 (VR treadmill system) for a 360 degree full range motion solution, or avoid VR altogether.

    Good entry level VR

Headset is a decent purchase for entry level VR. If you arent sure about whether you'll like it or not, this is just as good as the quest 2. The quest 2 being better with a higher resolution and refresh rate, but need an additional cable to use the horsepower of your computer. Biggest complain is the fact you now need a facebook account to use the item and likely facebook is collecting data on you. One thing that worries me about leaving the headset plugging in is the fact that the sensor for whether or not you're wearing the device, is always on (can check yourself by aiming your phone camera at it). Between this and the built in microphone, I'm spooked and unplug when not in use.

Honestly the Rift S is your best bang for buck vr headset. Sadly with the quest being Facebook's focus moving forward dont expect lifelong updates and support. The tracking is miles ahead of any WMR headset and the overall build quality is decent. Honestly the big con here is simply the fact that you are buying a product that is being phased out of the facebook support line-up. With that being said, this headset is still 10000000% better than both the quest 1 and quest 2 (Seriously, i own both and they are horrible if you want to play serious VR games at this time) Overall, if you can't afford an index or find a used vive buy a new one of these.

Having a VR in the times that we’re living in is something great that everyone should experience. Not only you can play any game and feel like you’re inside in your own reality. You can also travel around the world and feel like you’re there in person, which is really nice if you’re someone who loves traveling and exploring new places around the world. Now when it comes to the price and the amount of time I actually used it, I would say that it wasn’t really worth it. So if you’re someone who can’t really afford it then it’s probably better to try it in a gaming place that offers VR and try it out for few times and you will get the same experience from it.

Really easy to set up and play with. My first time Ever owning or using a consumer grade VR headset and it’s pretty dang cool. And at the $299 price this is a great option to start playing VR on a PC. Plays Alyx wonderfully. Looks like cheaper plastic than other headsets but also half the price or less.

If you want a affordable PCVR experience, this does a good job. I've had a ton of fun playing Beat Saber and other games. The fact that you don't have to put sensors all over your room means set up is quick and easy. I did consider the Quest 2, (especially since Facebook said they were killing the Rift line), but I don't care about the portability factor, I preferred the better head strap (which is at least an extra $50) and I didn't have to buy an additional cable (another $30 at least.) So, if your just going to do PC VR, this is the better value. (The Quest 2 does have a higher resolution and refresh rate, but you need a better video card to drive it.)

Works ok, but for some reason the cord gets really twisted and it is almost impossible to straighten it out. I've never had this issue with the original oculus. Also, I have to unplug/plug usb cords every time I want to play as my pc stops recognizing the headset on a daily basis. A few times a week controllers glitch and I have to reboot the PC for everything to work. So far these work-arounds work fine, but a bit annoying these glitches weren't fixed by Oculus, didn't have these problems with the original headset.

It is pretty good for a VR headset, but I ended up returning it to buy a valve index (it's been 4 weeks and I'm still waiting). The screen door effect was not so noticeable for me because my vision was weak enough to blur the pixels together but still let me see. I ran into a problem where my microphone would destroy the ears of any man woman or child I spoke to but it wasn't frequent enough to be an issue. A facebook account was also mandatory to use the headset, which is a big downside because I hate facebook. All in all, not a bad headset, but the moral of the story is to just buy a quest 2 because it is essentially better in every imaginable way and costs less.

    Great Entry VR for PC

I wanted to get the first Oculus Rift as my VR unit for my PC, but it had to be set up with sensors on the desk which is limited for my setup. However, the Oculus Rift S has built in sensors within the headset itself - eliminating the need to set up those senors. Performance is great and setup is as simple as following the directions once you install the Oculus program. The only issue I had with the headset is the occasional sensor issues where it fails and cannot detect the controllers. It is a known issue for many of the Rift S headsets and the only fix I had was to use a USB to Type - C cable and plug it to the Type C port on my Graphics Card. Seems pretty flawed to me to have that issue since it is supposed to be an upgrade from the original Rift.
