Great Potential, Unfulfilled
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This unit from Pioneer features Carplay support via lightning cable as well as Bluetooth audio support. This is really nice because sometimes you don't feel like plugging in the phone but still want to listen to audio. Unfortunately Carplay has been buggy and slow for me, using an iPhone 6 Plus. If Carplay worked flawlessly, this would be an outstanding unit. All of the rest of the Pioneer functions and sound quality are outstanding. Just don't get your hopes up for CarPlay. It still seems like an early beta product.

Better than stock

Bluetooth takes a little while to connect, but once it connects there are no issues. The carplay feature has some issues where it won't connect at all or it won't display the 'now playing' information. Annoying that there is no way to switch between taking a call over the speakers of the car to using the phone speakers in carplay mode without unplugging the phone completely. Bluetooth works much better for all of that. If only my phone could charge via bluetooth as well...

Awesome Interface

Sales associate had this in his car and had nothing but positive things to say. Took the plunge and wow! Reads my texts, does navigation right from Apple maps. Apple Car Play is the way to go!!
