The DMH-1770NEX is SiriusXM Ready. The tuner is not built into the stereo.
You need to purchase the SXV300 SiriusXM tuner and connect it to the stereo. The installer should have explained this better.

The crossover and equalizer are great and will instantly improve the sound of stock speakers. Installed this deck into a 2013 Grand Cherokee. Paired with Crux steering controls and everything works flawlessly.

It also has the input for back up camera so we are working to get that hooked up as well.

It disconnects when the camera is in use

Unfortunately, I have sxm radio and was told it would be the same and it was not. Have to have carplay in order to use when before I could get it through antenna. Install was fine however they duped and left all my stuff on the floor they had to move. Disappointing for the$$

This model cannot work with the factory SiriusXM tuner. You would need to get the SXV300 tuner from SiriusXM. Or, as you did, use their application through Apple CarPlay.
