I bought this for Apple CarPlay and that feature works great. Unfortunately, there are a couple of issues - Does not auto dim - Half of the setting options are inaccessible - Backup camera input does not automatically switch when inserting into reverse - When truck first starts, there about a 5 second window before the radio connects to the speakers (it sounds like connecting an aux cord to a speaker)

Needed a backup camera and Bluetooth in on older truck and this was the best solution both do their jibs ftom this unit with the bonus it sounds awesome too.

Great product! Very satisfied! Love the CarPlay and HD Radio! It has a bright and colorful display (that can be dimmed at night ... important) and also accommodates a rear camera ... one of the main reasons I purchased this product. Also, SiriusXM is available in the unit (with tuner and subscription needed) ... another great feature included along with Bluetooth for both phone calls and other Bluetooth devices.

Great sound and picture for the price! Has great features with wireless Apple CarPlay and HD radio stations.

I replaced my old Pioneer radio in my Chevy full size truck used for towing my 5th travel trailer. The sound with old radio really sucked compared to sound produced by this new pioneer avh-2550nex radio. I also had a backup camera tied to AVH installed on my truck which is really helpful for backing. For music I use SiriusXM, the avh HD radio for fm and am. I also use Spotify and audible books app's alot. The google maps app works great with carplay on the AVH. I also listen to podcast on OVERCAST & IHEART RADIO apps. This AVH is awesome and I only wished I had ordered one sooner. The Geek Squad installed the parts into my truck at the Mira Mesa Best Buy. The did a great job with installation, training, advice to all at a reasonable price.

Replaced my stock Mazda CX-5 with this unit. Features and options have come a long way since my last aftermarket radio. CarPlay is nice to have. Sound quality is nice and user EQ options. The only “complaint” I have is the display quality. It’s ok but needs better resolution in my opinion. It was more of a matte look than what is the norm we see with lots of resolution on our smart phones. I think the Kenwood has higher res displays but a higher price tag too. Overall a good starter unit if you want to jump in to CarPlay.

Fits nicely in an 04 chevy silverado. Sound quality is great. Android auto feature is a huge help when traveling. Ive had it for almost 2 years now and still works like new. Only downside is the android auto and i assume apple carplay are wired connections via usb cable and occasionally when the vehicle starts the music seems to only play from the front speakers so it has to be paused and unpaused to play out of all of them again. Definitely not a problem with me. Just a slight inconvenience, but definitely well worth the money considering the capabilities and features. Definitely would purchase again!

A great replacement for the factory head unit. Easy to operate. It has all the features I was looking for at a reasonable price.

First I want to give props to the installer . He did an amazing job and it wasn't easy putting this in my 2015 mustang with the required dash kit. I have been using a stock radio for years and now I see what I've been missing. This radio just blew me away. With the Android auto and Spotify the equalizer presets are perfect and look so cool on the big screen. I haven't put my new speakers and amps in but this thing made my stock speakers sound 100 percent better and I can't wait to get my subs and Alpine components installed next weekend. Going to sound awesome for sure.

Solid 4.5 star radio. Excellent Sound/EQ capabilities, my stock speakers sound 1,000% better than they did with the factory radio that failed after 15 years. I'm still learning how to use the Android Auto features but haven't run into any issues there yet. Great mic pickup quality during calls and vocal responses to notifications that come in while I am driving. Issues: 1) The deck does not fully fit in the opening on my 2006 Subaru STI. (The face plate apparently 3 to 5mm larger than a standard double DIMM opening.) I had to use a Dremel to grind off some of my plastic trim for the piece to fully snap back into place. 2) Volume buttons are too tiny (as other reviews mention) when attempting to turn the volume up and you go over a bump you end up pressing the mic or volume down button instead. I have been trying to use the included remote while driving to change the volume or advance to the next song as the buttons on the remote are bigger and more spaced apart. What could be better? Higher screen resolution (it's 800x600), and the ability to play blu-ray discs. Not just DVD and CDs. (Yes I still uses discs!)

Had this installed by Geek Squad and they did an amazing job. I can’t say enough about the install customer service in Manchester. The stereo was a Christmas gift for my son’s 2011 Ford F-150. It has really updated the look of his dash and the sound.

Works great in my 2007 Toyota Camry! Install at the VA Bch location was done so neat and timely; I was really impressed with the care taken during installation. The radio is a huge upgrade because I now have Bluetooth and can stream all my music & use my phone hand free. I would strongly suggest paying the extra $60 for the steering wheel control kit so that you can control the volume from your steering wheel because the buttons on the radio are really small. Apple Car Play & CD/DVD player are also nice options! This radio was the perfect choice for me!

Bought this for my wife's old truck. The Pioneer does everything we wanted it to do and then some. I also got new speakers and a backup camera. The sound difference is incredible. The entire system rocks! Geek Squad's installation was flawless, making the system look like it belonged in the truck. The radio itself allows my wife to listen to books or music from her iPod while using Android Auto from her phone to navigate and answer phone calls. It remembers the last setup, so all she has to do is get in her truck with everything turned on and connect to Android Auto. Couldn't be much easier. Absolutely awesome. We are both very happy both with the system and the installation. Highly recommended.

Looks like the most recent firware update resolved rge kast of the bugs I was having. When I first got the headunit it would fail to connect the wireless carplay 1/4 of the time, which was a PIA. I updated the firmware and now it connects 100% of the time. This head unit looks great, is fast, sounds great and is loaded with features. My only crtitcal feedback is that the auto diming feature is BS, doesnt work, I had to set it on a timer. Other than that, its great.

I love my new Pioneer stereo! I have an older model car and wanted to replace the antiquated radio in it with a touch screen with Apple Carplay. It’s awesome! I don’t gave to mess with my phone while I’m driving anymore to use the GPS, because it’s on the stereo screen. I can listen to my music, including from my Pandora and Spotify accounts. It came with free installation, which can be expensive, and that made it possible for me to also have new speakers installed (not free). Great price and easy to use. The installation experts were awesome too. Professionals. I’ve had no issues with my stereo or speakers.

Pioneer has to be one of my favorite car stereo systems and this one is no exception. Great sound, with both Android Auto and Apple Car Play it works no matter if you have an Android or iPhone. Currently I have an Android but want to switch to an iPhone on my next upgrade.As usual Best Buys installer did a spectacular job. Had me in and out pretty quickly. Gave me a demo and paired up my phone for me. With the great job they do it's the main reason I always go to Best Buy for my car audio, computer tech, appliances and other electronics needs..

Awesome radio. Sound quality is excellent. Looks great in the dash too. The Bluetooth is cool, you don’t even have to take your phone out of your pocket for it to work. The Apple CarPlay is awesome! You can control all of your music from the dash. The texting works really well. It will read your incoming ones and allow you to respond by just talking. Google maps in your dash is one of the beat GPS navigations too. Super happy with my purchase!

Purchased for Apple CarPlay as well as adding a backup camera to my car. The unit is incredibly responsive in CarPlay and in its own operating system, has nice EQ tuning, and the customizable LEDs on the buttons are a nice touch. CarPlay has no lag (using an iPhone 11 Pro) and switching between the backup camera when reversing is instant. The screen itself is a capacitive touch screen, like your smart phone, which is the biggest upgrade over Pioneer’s 1500NEX and other $300 CarPlay receivers. Compared to the resistive touch screens in those receivers, the unit feels much more responsive and more premium (think iPhone vs Nintendo DS touch screen). My only complaint about the screen is its low resolution at 800x400 which does look jarringly blurry at first compared to how sharp our phone resolutions are, but in practice it’s hardly a dealbreaker and something you won’t notice while driving. Last thing to note: the unit includes a separate microphone, which can be placed elsewhere in the car (my technician put it next to my rear view mirror). No complaints about phone call quality, and Siri can understand me just fine. “Hey Siri” on CarPlay still listens through your phone, resulting in a delay before hearing your request. Skip Hey Siri and just use the call button on your steering wheel or the mic button on the receiver for Siri.

Fair warning if you have a S22 line of phone do not get this. Andrioid auto and a bunch of features will not work. Any other phone is fine. Google, samsung and pioneer know about the issue and have said they are going to fix it but have stopped replying to people who have the issue. Its looking like it wont get repaired anytime soon so if you have the s22, s22+, or s22 ultra stay away. My old s20+ and my moms s21+ worked fine and if you have a phone that works this is an amazing unit. However, right now im $500 out becuase of the s22 issue
