    Got this for a 2015 Wrangler. In stock, under $500 unit with CarPlay during chip shortage was the motivation behind getting this unit. Slightly smaller unit than factory and the trim kit leaves slight gaps. But it’s a Jeep, don’t care. Inexpensive but so far decent unit. Responsive and sounds great. Crisp clear screen. Only complaint is that requires parking brake activated to access some features, of which very few. Xm radio ready, no receiver. I do miss having a knob but steering wheel controls make up for it. No front usb connection. I don’t have power windows so routed usb through the dash pocket where the switches would be.

    Wanted to remove sync 1 and wanted a touchscreen, this radio did just that! Had to order a special adapter to keep my steering wheel controls, but wiring was very easy and everything works great! Would definitely recommend

    The product was great while it lasted. I had it installed with a back up camera. First the camera stopped but could just be the camera. Then I started having issues about a year after owning it. From white screen with lines, frozen screens, eventually CarPlay stopped working with the cable. Then the Bluetooth had to be repaired every time. I did have the geek squad protection so I got my money back. Definitely recommend getting the warranty. When it works it’s great. CarPlay and Android auto is nice and the audio was better than my original stereo.

    It’s a decent head unit however the CarPlay is wired. So for me it was the reason I returned the unit.

      You are correct, the DMH-1770NEX does not support Wireless Apple CarPlay or Wireless Android Auto. You would want to consider the DMH-W2770NEX, DMH-W3000NEX, or the DMH-W3050NEX. PUSATechAnswers

    After about a month of use, this head unit has been great. Sound quality is superb for the price point and easy to navigate. Only giving it 4 stars due to occasional glitches in Android Auto, which could easily be my phone and not necessarily the radio as it happens on my wife's vehicle as well.

    works well, does the job. cannot figure out how to unpair the device from my phone, as "unpair" does not mandate the device asks permission, for some reason. otherwise great

    Pioneer DMH-1770NEX--Good But Not For All

    Pioneer makes good stuff. This particular unit is probably excellent for many users. However, if you really like radio, the FM sensitivity is in the back of the pack of similarly priced units (even their high priced used are in the same place), which I suspect is because many folks get their audio entertainment in other places. Also, to use an iPhone for CarPlay or your Android phone, it's wired only. If these issues don't concern you, then it's a good buy. If they do, look elsewhere.

    Hopefully the 2nd stereo isn't an issue. 1st went out in 2 years I was glad I had geek squad protection. Getting the runaround from The geek squad guys with the car stereo isn't helping matter.... I rebought the pioneer in-dash stereo and was told they had a problem in the early 2000s but after 2024 they fixed it. So I'm just awaiting my reinstall coming up soon.... Hard to get an appointment and having a couple issues hopefully they work out smoothly.

    Bought Pioneer - 6.8" – Multimedia Digital Media Receiver online as an open box "excellent" condition. Which according to best buy is suppose to have all original packaged items with no damage. 1st receiver they sent was missing the wiring harness, etc lol can't install without that. Customer service was 5 stars the best and got me the second receiver shipped/received in 2 days just sucks that the "excellent" condition open box was damaged with scratches on the touch screen. Customer service again 5 stars got me a full refund. You can get great deals with open box items just make sure to buy in-store so you can open and look over the item before committing to purchasing.

    It was perfect fit tor my truck. It sounds great. Only thing I don’t like is have to plug phone in in order for car play to work but for the price it’s not bad.

    amazing and fast and works with my wireless carplay adapter. geeksquad installation was smooth and seamless. it has a plastic screen which is suceptible to scratches is the one thing i dont like which is easily fixed by a screen protector

    Product Failed After 18 Months

    As other reviews have stated, this was a great product for a while, and then, stopped functioning altogether with a similar white screen symptom. For me, it was about 18 months and then one day it just didn't boot up. During troubleshooting, I eliminated the possibility of the datalink module being bad (unfortunately by buying a new one). Buyer beware.

    You sort of get what you pay for

    Got this unit after my factory head unit began to fail. Wanted something with CarPlay that wasn't going to destroy my wallet. Install was fairly straight forward. Touch screen was very responsive and worked well at first. Wired CarPlay and Android Auto only (not the end of the world), this head unit was showing promise.....until recently. Bluetooth connectivity is fine. Microphone that comes with this stereo isn't worth the time to install. Unfortunately, this unit only worked properly for a little over a year. The past 6 months of owning it have been hit or miss whether or not I'm going to get the white screen of death or a functional stereo. The volume buttons are touch screen, non haptic style. So it's easy to miss the buttons sometimes for volume adjust. The radio presets are finicky and easy to accidentally reset to factory. Most recently, the radio will briefly work as soon as I turn my car on, but simple tasks like adjusting the volume too quickly causes the screen/entire radio to die. I paid $375 for this head unit and now I'm seeing the quality that this amount of money buys. The only reason I'm rating this as fair is because it lasted for a year before dying.
