The only things we dislike are the fact that it is not blue tooth capable for iphones…you must plug it into the USB. Also, it changed the sound of our warning bell and turn signals (I believe that is related to the steering wheel control adaptor for GM) to a not-so-pleasant tone.

You are correct, the DMH-1500NEX does not support Wireless Apple CarPlay or Wireless Android Auto.
The vehicle interface adapter used is what can change the tones of the factory sounds. You might check with the installer, to see if the adapter offers a way to change the sound.

It is relatively user friendly, I don't know if it was supposed to come with a user manual or not, but I did not have one after my installation so I had to google it. All of the features work great and the picture is clear when in camera mode. I love that all of my apps are present and available on the screen without having to use my phone. Overall, I absolutely recommend this to anyone. If you're on the fence with it, I say go for it

My only issue was it seemed the radios Bluetooth call volume was a little lower then when I used apple car play but it still wasn’t bad. Unfortunately the din for my car wasn’t working so I can’t use the radio anymore. Evan was incredibly helpful. With how much trouble the din gave me Evan was always getting my car in during free time to try and get it fixed. He even offered to come in on a day off to fix it and it’s awesome that he would even offer that. The process was frustrating but only due to the din which was not purchased through Best Buy but he made it a lot less frustrating. He’s a great employee and I’ll make sure to go back through Best Buy because of him.

This device is not wireless so it doesn’t automatically connect to your phone & pull up text messages & maps. It won’t do that until you plug it in to a cord that the installer left loosely hanging out. He also disconnected the controls on the steering wheel so now they’re useless. Never told us and don’t offer any other options. This was a wasted purchase & installation experience was Very unsatisfactory.

Posted .I am sorry to hear you are not happy with the DMH-1500NEX.
You are correct, it does not support Wireless Android Auto or Wireless Apple CarPlay.
For the steering wheel controls, you would need an interface adapter to retain the factory controls. Your local Best Buy should have these available and explain how they will help.
If needed, contact Best Buy at 888-237-8289. They will try to assist you with the details.

Apple car play is a large difference maker. Very glad I was lucky enough to get one because they are usually out of stock.
