At Ring, we work hard to be completely transparent in both our products, and the optional services that we provide. The Ring Protect Plan is mentioned on our Ring packaging, on our website, and in the welcome email you received upon setting up your device. Your Ring products provide their standard features (real-time notifications, live view, and two-way talk) without any subscription. Ring Protect Plans offer downloading and sharing video capabilities and additional features for those who want them.

It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. The Ring Battery Doorbell is Ring's most affordable battery-powered doorbell with features like Color Night Vision and HD Video. From package deliveries and motion detection to visitors, you’ll see it all from wherever you are right in the Ring app. To view the instructions in a larger format, please visit our support center, where you’ll find a step-by-step instructions. We also offer a bundle that includes the Ring Battery Doorbell and the Ring Indoor Cam as a started set. The Ring Home Plan provides valuable capabilities, such as accessing paid features and the ability to save, download, and review footage captured by your Ring device. Without a Ring Home Plan, you can still view real-time video for Ring doorbells and cameras and answer doorbell notifications when they happen, but you don’t get video recordings of those events.
