A: Hello pmarjun. We appreciate the time you have taken to ask this question. The Ring Battery Doorbell will make an audible sound when someone presses the doorbell button, however, this will likely not be heard from inside the home. The Ring Chime allows you to hear notifications anywhere in your home when someone presses your doorbell or motion is detected. The Ring Chime is sold separately. Q: how long does the battery last? and how long does it take to charge after battery is low?
A: Hi Angel. Thank you for reaching out to us with your question. The battery in the Ring Battery Doorbell is designed to go months between charges under normal conditions. However, real battery life is dependent on a number of factors, such as local weather, the number of events captured, and the frequency of activation. It can take up to 10 hours to fully charge the battery. To prevent excessive activity and preserve battery life, under "Motion Settings" for your device in the Ring app, you can: Adjust your "Motion Sensitivity" slider to a lower sensitivity. Redraw your "Customizable Motion Zones." Change "Motion Frequency" to regularly or periodically. You could also adjust the direction of your Ring device so it doesn't detect as much motion. You can go to "Power Settings" in the Ring app to see what features may be draining your battery. To access "Power Settings," open the Ring app: Tap the menu (≡) on the top left of the dashboard. Tap "Devices." Tap the individual device (video doorbell or security camera) you want to check. Tap "Power Settings" to check your "Battery Level" percentage and "Feature Power Usage." Tap a feature to adjust "Snapshot Capture," "Motion Frequency," and "Video Recording Length." Q: I have the gen 2 now. is worth it to go with the gen 3?
A: Hi mgintyb. Thank you for your question. The Ring Battery Doorbell has a wider field of view measuring 150° horizontal by 150° vertical head-to-toe. The Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen.) has a field of view that measures 155° horizontal by 90° vertical. The Ring Battery Doorbell Pro is designed with a removable Ring Quick Release Battery Pack for convenient charging without having to remove the device. A: Hi Neighbor. Thank you for your question. The Ring Battery Doorbell is designed with customizable motion settings to be adjusted according to your environment and your needs. Check the are to ensure that there are no environmental factors such as tree branches or lights that may be triggering false motion alerts. We also recommend enabling the Smart Alerts feature on the device's page in the Ring app. Accuracy in motion detection can also be improved by enabling "Smart Alerts" for people only in your Ring app. To enable "Smart Alerts": Tap the menu (≡) on the top left. Tap "Devices." Tap the device that you want to adjust. Tap "Motion Settings." Tap "Smart Alerts." Tap "Enable Feature." Tap "Continue." Select the notification options that you want for "Person" and "Other Motion." You'll see a video camera where you can select or de-select recording and a bell icon to represent alert notifications. After you've adjusted your settings, tap "Done." We invite you to reach out to our community if any additional information is needed regarding your question. Q: What mount do I need to have this on an angle? My front door does not face the front of my house.
A: Hi Chrissy. Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us with your question. We recommend using the Ring Wedge Kit or the Ring Corner Kit for the Ring Battery Doorbell to adjust the device to your desired view. It sounds like the Ring Corner Kit would be the best option for turning the doorbell to face another direction if your door does not face the front. We have included a link here to an article on our website with more information on using a Ring Wedge Kit or Ring Corner Kit with your Ring doorbell: https://ring.com/support/articles/90tcr/Using-a-Wedge-Kit-to-Properly-Position-your-Ring-Video-Doorbell. Q: How many people can have access the Ring doorbell?
A: Hi Kris. Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us with your question. You have the option to share one or more Ring devices with as many shared users as you like. A shared user cannot change system settings or account information but can view cameras and view and share videos. Access to particular cameras can be granted or taken away by the owner. The Ring Battery Doorbell is as advertised. The battery is easy to install when needed. The picture quality is perfect. When there is action, I can clearly see what is happening. I live in a more rural area. I like to view the animals which come to visit. It gives me joy to see them in my front yard. This camera lights up the area and gives me a safe view of my visitors. No regrets!

This is fantastic. What problem I have with it is that I keep looking at my phone! Although I have to say it’s much bigger than I thought, and I had to mount it with a swivel bracket on the front door of my apartment and it does look rather huge, but as long as no one complains, I’m good to go!
