The Ring Spotlight Cam Plus was designed to capture motions based on your specifications to help keep your home secure. We are here to provide you with some information to resolve the issue you mentioned in your review.
This camera uses adjustable motion detection and runs on passive infrared sensors. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. If you do not wish to receive notifications for motion events, simply toggle off the "Motion Alerts" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the "Motion Frequency" setting. If you find that your camera is picking up too much motion, we recommend lowering the "Motion Sensitivity" under the "Motion Settings" tab. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This also includes changing the "Motion Frequency" to "Regularly" or "Periodically" in the Ring app.
Accuracy in motion detection can also be improved by enabling the "Smart Alerts" feature for people only in your Ring app. To enable "Smart Alerts", please follow these steps:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left.
Tap "Devices."
Tap the device that you want to adjust.
Tap "Motion Settings."
Tap "Smart Alerts."
Tap "Enable Feature."
Tap "Continue."
Select the notification options that you want for "Person" and "Other Motion."
You'll see a video camera where you can select or de-select recording and a bell icon to represent alert notifications.
After you've adjusted your settings, tap "Done."

RING SPOTLIGHT CAM defective

I called best buy the next day, they sent a second tech to reboot and exchange if it did not work, which it did not.

No Battery

The picture is very plain and it is very easy to see the person's identity. Very satisfied with the performance of this product. It is easy to install and make function.

These are better than some but…
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.These cams are better than some but disconnect from wifi often, even if the router is just feet away. Go for the Ring Pros which use 2.4 and 5ghz, these seem to work better and stay connected.

The features and technology provided by the Ring Spotlight Cam Plus are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We want to ensure your device is working as intended by providing you with solutions to resolve the concern you mentioned in your review.
It sounds like you have some concerns with the connectivity of your device. Usually, devices falling offline repeatedly are related to poor wifi connectivity caused by signal fluctuations, channel congestion, or data loss. In rare cases, this can be caused by settings on your router.
If your networking equipment hasn’t been power cycled in a while, try unplugging it for 30 seconds and plugging it back in.
Once you've done this, we recommend you check the Device Health section of your Ring application to ensure the device’s RSSI is within an acceptable range. The recommended range for optimal performance is 0 to -60 for the RSSI.
If you live in a densely populated area or apartment building, there can be dozens of wifi networks layered on top of each other, potentially creating interference and other issues. Contact your internet service provider or consult your router manual for tips on how to reduce or prevent this, such as switching channels.
