I LOVE this robot vacuum/mop. Wish I had purchased one sooner. This thing is a climber. It climbed up 3 cat litter mats. I had to rescue it. Lol. Only thing is I named him Sebastian. I wanted a robot butler but ut has a female voice. Wish I could change that. Highly recommend.

The black door that holds the roller in place broke after 7 months. I reached out to Shark to file a warranty claim to which they said “the door is considered an accessory part & is not covered by warranty because its not required to make the vacuum work as intended” i disagreed & sent a video of the roller falling OFF the vacuum when the door is notattached & they said “it still runs though” prior to this the vacuum has been amazing! Sharks inability to stand behind their product ESPECIALLY at thus price point is horrible!

      Hi there,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re glad to hear the vacuum performed well initially, but we understand how frustrating it must be to deal with a broken part. We recognize your concern about the warranty coverage and how important it is for all components to be supported, especially at this price point. Your feedback is incredibly valuable and will be passed along to the appropriate team for further review. We truly appreciate you bringing this to our attention, as it helps us improve both our products and our service policies.

      Kind Regards,
      Shark Clean.

Never had one before so I can’t compare but I really love this machine. I’m disabled and what this machine does for me is something special. It detects dirt, vacuums it and washes it. I’ve been loving to watch it work.

I have had numerous robot vacuums and by far this one is the worst. Leaves lots of dirt on the floor and the transition from vac to mop is awful. Always gets hung up and leaks water on the floor.

    Best Robot vacuum yet

I have had five different robot vacuum cleaners from three different brands over the past three year and I can honestly say, the Shark Robot Vacuum and mop powerdetect is the best one I have had. This Shark comes with just about anything you could want on from a robot vacuum. It self empties into the docking station, which can hold a several cleaning sessions, and unlike my last robot docking station, this one does not require you to purchase expensive bags. Shark says it can hold up to sixty days worth of debris, but that depends on how often you run the vacuum among other things. There is a water reservoir which allows this unit to not only vacuum your house, but to also mop non-carpeted rooms. The reservoir is supposed to last for thirty days. Some of the other features that the Shark powerdirect comes with are dirt detect that is said to sense hidden dirt and boost power, edge detect that pulls debris out of edges and it is also supposed to detect what type of floor it is on and adjust suction based on what it senses. One feature that is really neat is the wet edge detect. When the unit is mopping, it will detect when it is close to an edge and will extend the mop pad to reach the edge and corners. This particular unit also has never stuck technology which allows the robot to lift itself over obstacles. This was an issue with each of my previous robots, they seemed to get stuck pretty often. I don't know what else the manufacturers will think of to put into a robot vacuum, but this model has about anything you can think of. With all of the details out of the way, the best part of this robot vacuum is that is actually does what it advertises to do. Even with an Australian Shepard living in and out of the house, This robot keeps everything clean including pet hair. I have only had to clean the rollers once since I started using the robot and that was the very first time I used it. Since then, it has been flawless in cleaning my house. The app is really easy to use and allows you to schedule when you want your robot to vacuum, mop or both. Setup was easy. There were only three main parts in the box, so it was ready to go and pair with the app in less than five minutes. The map of my home that the Shark made on its first run was impressive and it was easy to label each room so that I can tell the vacuum to only clean specific areas. Needless to say, I really like this robot vacuum and consider it a terrific upgrade from all of my previous robots.

Shark is the real deal! Step it up, Roomba...

I'm replacing a Roomba Combo unit which also does both vacuuming and mopping, and couldn't be happier! I feel like the Roomba Combo was a good proof of concept, but it doesn't function nearly as seamlessly and you're mostly paying for the name. With the Roomba, it gets stuck just about everywhere, you can only set it to either vacuum or mop, and when you set it to mop you need to prep the entire area first by blocking off anywhere you have carpets or rugs. With the Shark, everything just works perfectly. It maps the area so it knows where the carpet is and where the hardwood is. You can have it vacuum, mop, or both. When it's doing both, it does a path vacuuming over everything first, then goes back to the dock to put on the mopping pad and goes over just the hardwood areas. If you have hardwood that is completely blocked off by an area rug, it actually lifts up the back end to keep the wet pad off of the rug while going to the other hardwood area. While every Roomba I've ever had would get stuck just about anywhere (due to a difference of .25" in the floor height, wedging itself under any and every piece of furniture, or going over the tassel of an area rug), the Shark has never gotten stuck. It uses sensors to know if it cannot go into an area (like under an entertainment unit), and since it can lift itself up a bit it never gets stuck on uneven flooring or running over the edge of a rug. The app has all manner of settings in it that you can adjust, including the volume of the voice coming from the device. It's max volume is definitely loud, but even if you mute the machine it's probably better to have it run while you're away rather than asleep.

I wanted to really love this but it just does not work. I’ve had it for under a year and it no longer charges or will vacuum each room when it does finally charge. Now it won’t even turn on and I tried a factory reset and everything.

    Fantastic state-of-the-art vacuum and mop

The Shark PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro 2-in-1 vacuum and mop is a technological tour-de-force, with advanced features that make it easy to use and live with. Starting with setup, there are just a few basic steps. First, find a location for the base along a wall. You’ll notice that the PowerDetect base has a small ramp that the robot climbs when it returns home. This will allow it to sit in place without any danger of water dripping on your floors. It also has three tanks, one for vacuumed debris, a water / cleaning fluid storage tank, and a dirty (grey) water tank. Attach the small side brush on the robot and place the unit in the base. While the robot is charging, install the odor neutralizer cartridge on the vacuum tank and fill the clean water tank with a mixture of tap water and cleaning solution. Once the robot is charged, it will use the app to map out your home. The PowerDetect will follow the contours of your rooms and create a remarkably accurate map of your floor plan. It moves quite quickly during this step, and mapped out the 1,000 SF floor I where I use it in minutes. On the app you can then do things like sub-divide rooms (if, for example, you want to vacuum the carpeted areas more frequently than the hardwoods). The app will also allow you to decide if you want to vacuum, mop, or both, select which rooms you want to clean, and allows you to send the robot to specific spot for cleaning (in case the dogs make a mess, because it’s never the humans’ fault when there are dogs around). The PowerDetect runs in two distinct cycles, vacuum and mop, so let’s consider each of them separately. When in vacuum mode, the robot drops the mop pad onto the base so as not to drip water while vacuuming. This also allows the pad to dry out between uses. The robot runs at a preset vacuum power level, but has a sensor in it to identify heavily soiled spots. When detected, the robot will increase the suction and focus on that spot until it’s clean. Cleaning along walls and in corners is a challenge for my four other robot vacuums (don’t judge, it’s a large house). The PowerDetect runs along the walls rather than bouncing off of them, and it shoots blasts of air in front of it to force things away from walls and corners, moving dirt, hair, etc., into the vacuum’s path. We have two very large dogs who, like many of us, took up a COVID hobby. Unfortunately, the hobby they chose was shedding, and getting their hair up from along walls and out of corners had challenged our other robots. With this forced air feature, the PowerDetect is able to keep edges and corners clear of dog hair. One of the more interesting features this robot has is a lift capability. When it detects an obstacle like a rug, it has the ability to lift part of the robot several inches, ensuring that it does not get stuck. In my house this feature was very effective. Once vacuuming is complete, the robot returns to its base and empties the vacuum bin into the tank on the base. The PowerDetect is now ready to mop. It picks up the mop pad and fills its cleaning bin from the clean water tank. The robot does not attempt to clean carpeted areas and rugs, and heads straight for hard surfaces. When over hard surfaces, the robot sprays just enough water to get the job done, scrubs with the brush, and sucks up the dirty water. I’ve never had a wet spot left behind. While running over rugs or carpets, the robot uses the lifting feature to ensure that the mop pad does not come into contact with anything it shouldn't. In corners, it shifts the mop pad to the edge of the robot to ensure complete cleaning. Once the mop cycle is complete, the robot returns to the base and empties the dirty water into the grey water tank. While Shark gives some long time frames that you can expect between emptying the tanks, in real life you’ll want to empty the grey water tank after every use. While the tank can store multiple mopping cycles of dirty water, it starts to smell pretty quickly. If you, too, have very large dogs with a similar COVID hobby, you’ll also be emptying the vacuum tank every week or so. But, these are simple tasks, and your mileage will vary. Robot vacuums and mops have come a very long way since they were first introduced. The PowerDetect 2-in-1 reflects the current state of the art, and the progress has been remarkable.
