Customers are saying
Customers enjoy the Onyx Plus Satellite Radio Receiver's ease of use, superb sound quality, and relatively easy installation. Many appreciate the compact size, attractive display, and the inclusion of useful features. While some users suggest improvements to the antenna and the lack of a remote control, the positive feedback on other aspects outweighs these concerns. The price point is also frequently cited as a positive aspect of the product.

I don't love this receiver
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I liked my previous receiver much better. I miss the knob, so much easier to change channels that way. Power button works about 60% of the time. There is a reason for the low price. Pass on this model.

Best Portable Tuner for SiriusXM yet!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had SiriusXM for nearly 20 years now and this is the nicest tuner yet! I had the XmP3 for several years and it was the only portable with a battery that allowed me to take it on walks but I needed a larger display and easy station acces so I went for the Onkyx! It has been superb and plays 24 hours a day for years now without any problems. I have it installed in the SiriuxXM "boombox" (it can be plugged in or run on batteries!) and cant take the music outdoors with ease. I also have a car kit with the antenna lead securely connected to the OEM satellite antenna on the room of my Mustang and it works great allowing me to have uninterrupted access to music in the middle of nowhere! Highly recommend!

Don't buy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Poor reception. It keeps going in and out of service and sometimes i hear two stations at one time. I also hate the tiny buttons and having it in my vent.

Posted .Sorry you are having issues with your Onyx Plus radio. It sounds like you are using the built-in Power Connect to transmit over your FM radio. You may want to try alternate FM stations to see if that helps. if not, you may also want to look at adding the FMDA25 FM direct adapter which will isolate the antenna when listening to SiriusXM so you should not hear the FM channel bleed into the SiriusXM audio

Good Radio/Sirius Staff Bad
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like the radio and the installation, hated dealing with the people at Sirius. Getting a god renewal deal is like negotiating with a flock of crows. Never take their first, or maybe their second, offer. You can get different costs from different people, so shop around. Five stars for the radio and Best Buy installation, one star to the Sirius Staff.

Not Free
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think the radio should be given a very and I mean very fair price maybe free for the money you have to lay out. The short performances and commercials in the comedy acts were too much for me to enjoy,I gave up...

Great buy!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i had decided I wanted satellite radio in my car.. Called the dealership and it was going to be around 700 dollars!! I started looking into other options and found this.. I was a little concerned about how it would hook up in my car.. I have a 2013 civic sedan.. I put it down by my consol right under the radio and it hides all the wires and fit perfectly! I mounted my antenna inside my car on the dash and I still get a signal in my garage! I didn't want to mount it outside because I wanted to be able to hide the wire.. I just pushed it down in the creases of my dash and you can't even see it! I am so happy with this product and couldn't believe how easy it was to install.. I am not a tech savy person AT ALL and it took about 15 minutes and most of that was routing wires where they couldn't be seen.. I got this product when it was on sale.. Defiantly worth every penny of the 60 bucks it cost me!!

Best XM Receiver I've Ever Own
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been an XM radio subscriber for over a decade...since 2002 as a matter of fact. This is easily the best radio they've ever made. The good: - It has 20 presets; two banks of 10. I've found that to be more than enough. - Screen is bright, easy to read, and organized. - TuneStart. This alone is worth the purchase. After the radio has been running for a few minutes, whenever I tune to a station in my presets, it starts at the beginning of the song. It makes scanning around for music a far more enjoyable experience. You never again will find a song you like with only to find it’s almost over. - TuneMix. Not something I personally use but kind of a cool feature. Start this mode and your radio will play one complete song from a random preset. After the song ends, it'll change to another channel and play another complete song there. - Supports the Xtra/2.0 channels that only the newest XM radios can tune to. These channels have far better sound quality as well. The bad: - If you're an audiophile, XM may frustrate you. The standard 1.0 channels often sound compressed. The 2.0 channels sound much better, however. - Plug and play radio. The plus is that you can install it yourself. The downside is that since you’re doing it yourself, you'll likely have a couple cables going across the dash of your car. - FM Modulation. The FM transmitter can be weak. The signal is further degraded if you have multiple devices plugged into other outlets in your car (e.g. my iPhone charger). Luckily there is also an option for a direct connection via an AUX port. Overall / tl;dr version: This is a fantastic radio. There's a few shortcomings but they aren't the fault of the radio itself. If you want XM, this is the radio to choose.

Good for an add on
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have an older car that I love with a nice factory sound system. I wanted to add satellite radio and bought this unit. The Geek Squad installer at the Kildeer Illinois store was really nice, asked me where I wanted everything. He did as promised, and actually showed me some better mounting idea. The wiring is all hidden, he placed the antenna on the top of the dash oat the front of the windshield. No extra wires showing either and now I don't have to worry about the magnetic mount outside scratching the car at car washed etc. I was real happy when he showed me how he did the antenna. The radio works great. Had him install the FM modulator so I would get a static free sound. He also wired the power into my vehicles power system, so I didn't lose a cigarette lighter socket either. Installation was included in the bundle, and the two optional pieces added less than $40 more, which I was totally fine with. I know if I had done it myself, it wouldn't have been such a nice and clean installation. I'll go back for a starter install for sure. Very satisfied!
