Q: Is this unit portable enough to use in a gym?
A: Is this unit portable enough to use in my home?
Q: Does the factory radio have to have an AUX input?
A: No. There is an embedded FM transmitter in the satellite radio. Tune it and your car radio to an unused FM channel if you have no AUX inputs on your car radio.
Q: I have a regular radio, can I buy this and connect to my truck and buy a subscription
A: I have a regular radio and bought it. The only problem was I had to get it professionally installed. I couldn't do it myself.
Q: Can This Be Switched Between Vehicles?
A: The only problem that you may encounter is the antenna. The receiver plugs into the 12 volt cigarette lighter and the in-car radio audio input jack. You could possibly purchase antennas for the other vehicles and then you only have to move the receiver.
Q: How much is Geek Squad Installation?
A: I was quoted $80 and that was what I paid. Probably could have installed it myself but at that price, I figured go ahead and let them go ahead and do the work. The tech I had did an excellent job, very efficient had the unit installed and working in an hour or less. Extremely pleased and I highly recommend.
A: Long story short... Yes, you would need to buy an Onyx or another SiriusXM radio. Even though SiriusXM is all one company now, there are three different platforms. The GM satellite radios are XM Radios. There are also Sirius radios and SiriusXM radios. Each of the three platforms have a different channel line up. XM Radios, such as the GM radios, can only receive XM channels. Radios labeled as Sirius radios will only receive Sirius channels. SiriusXM radios will receive SiriusXM channels. Each of the channel lineups have similarities, but also have differences. For example, the Sirius radios have very little play-by-play sports. The Onyx radio uses the SiriusXM channel lineup, which is the largest lineup of the three.
Q: what is the difference between onyx sat. receiver and onyx plus?
A: The Onyx Plus has a LOT more features ... Key one would be tune start where it essentially acts like a DVR on 18 of your presets and let's you start a song from the beginning when you change channels. Also tune mix and it displays album art. It also has a sports ticker that I think the XM Onyx lacks. Number of stations and installation would be the same so if you don't care about these features, the Onyx will work, but Tune Start is unique to the Onyx Plus and guarantees you won't again here the last 15 seconds of a favorite song.
Q: will this work in a 2004 Envoy....What else will I need
A: Yes it will it comes with every thing u will need for it to work in the box
