When it connects to my ps5 it’s great but sometimes getting a connection is a pain. My home network is good and I am using the ps5 connection using Wi-Fi rather than wired connection, which I heard improves the connectivity. But yeah the cloud streaming is a game changer as long as you’re a ps plus platinum member. Solid to hold and use. The thumb sticks are a little higher than a standard dualsense controller so it takes some getting used to that, but overall a great product!

While i wasnon the fence about purchasing the Portal, I’ve found myself playing my PS5 more than ever before. Having a wife and kids who are often in control of the TV in the main living room, this allows me to use my PS5 while the wife and kids are watching a show, movies, or playing on another video game console. Highly recommended. I would only suggest to pick up over having it shipped when possible because the 3rd party delivery service used is awful.

I love this thing i just wish it did more or was a standalone device however i am enjoying ff tactics on it right now but it mostly stays tucked away however for the price you paid it does what it says and does it well and its super comfortable to hold

I was planning to give 1 star for this product since the game just keep getting lag and stuttering even through my house is using 1g internet fiber. I read online and look through youtube just try to fix the lag but none of them is working. I was about to give up, but I found out that whenever I turn the TV that connect to PS5 the portal stop lagging and stuttering. This is for my case maybe it has to do with the HDMI cable, still I don't know why portal stopped stuttering when the TV is turn on. Therefore, what I did, I turn on TV for 24 hours a day and press Turn off Picture button. Now, I able to enjoy playstation portal wherever I go and play PS5 video game without getting lag or stuttering. If you high speed internet cable and PS5 connect directly to router or modern and still getting lag, you should try to turn on TV and see if the portal still getting lag. if it run smoothly when TV is turn on, maybe you should turn on TV and use off picture mode.

The PS5 Portal Black Edition is honestly pretty awesome if you already own a PlayStation 5 and want to play anywhere in the house without hogging the TV. It’s not a full-on handheld like a Switch, but it does what it’s made for really well.

The portal has been an awesome accessory device for me. I understand that not everyone is going to have the same experience due to different networking setups, but for mine, it has worked flawlessly. It's made me play my PlayStation way more helped me get even more value out of it

I usually do not do reviews, but I absolutely love this device and the Midnight Black color! It is a great way to play your PS5 games in handheld mode and catch up on that nagging backlog. My PS5 console had been collecting dust recently due to my busy life schedule but since buying the portal I have not picked up my Switch 2 in days. I also love the cost of the device as well given how expensive gaming has become as of late.

I picked up the PlayStation Portal for myself after realizing the TV in my house is permanently claimed by my three kids. This thing has been a lifesaver. Setup was quick, and once it synced to my PS5, I was gaming from the couch, the backyard, or wherever I could grab a little peace and quiet.
The screen looks great, the controls feel just like the DualSense, and it’s surprisingly comfortable to use for long sessions. Every now and then, it’ll lose connection to the PS5 or the image will get a bit pixelated, but it always reconnects quickly and keeps going strong.
If you’ve got a full house and still want to squeeze in some gaming time without fighting over the TV, this little device is a game-changer.

When using remote play, single player games work fantastic. No input lag or delays even when playing games several hundred miles from my ps5 as long as you have a fairly decent internet connection. There is input lag when playing online games, but that is to be expected. Cloud streaming is a great deal, especially since you don’t actually need a ps5 for that!

Honestly thought this was going to suck and i was going to return it after a day. Well I'm not ever returning it. If you have a good internet connection and ps pro it works amazing. Super impressed with this accessory to the PS

Wasnt sure about getting it after seeing reviews and used ones for sale. Peole have the wrong idea about how these works! It is not a game system by itself, it is just remote play and BETA cloud streaming! Plenty games to choose from on the beta to keep you entertained. Great for gaming away from home, at home, work, anywhere!

Best investment if you’re sharing a TV with family or not wanting to keep roommates up with the tv screen. Movers picked up all my stuff so currently using it as a standalone which is pretty nice with the selections available from the PS Plus subscription. But definitely prefer it with the PS5. The downside I feel is not having Bluetooth capabilities which maybe explains the price point. You can’t pair your gaming headphones with it even with an adapter. So if you’re wanting to have a reason to get the matching headset then sure.

Very convenient way to stream from your ps5. This device allows me to play late and not wake up the wife and kids. A PS5 console is required to use this device and console must be in rest mode to turn on from the portal. The main gripe I have about the device is my hands cramp up from holding the portal after minimal game time, but I do not experience this holding the Dualsense. Also, the resolution is not as clean as playing from the actual console. This is expected since you are streaming from the console, but makes me wish I was playing on the TV instead for better graphical quality. All in all it is a very handy device and glad I made the purchase so I can stay up later to play BG3 with the bois.

The thought of the handheld is great. Thought this would be a great way for my husband to play the playstation with the kids. However because they sync together, one or the other has to be played at a time. Would be much more pleasant to play if both could be played at the same time. If too faraway from the Playstation it lags as well.

Great device for handheld, on-the-go play. The controller feels comfortable and solid in the hand, and the screen looks amazing with vibrant visuals. Gameplay is enjoyable overall, especially when traveling or playing casually.
Cons: Connectivity can sometimes be difficult to get working smoothly, and I do experience occasional lag during gameplay. That said, my Wi-Fi setup may be contributing to the lag, so results could vary depending on connection quality.

Great for playing games around the house if you don't want to move your console or someone else is using the TV. Does take some getting used to playing on it but you get used to it quickly. I do really like how they have the controller handles compared to other handheld consoles. I think that's what separates this from others.
