This was the remote play experience that I have been wanting. I have zero issues with lag or poor stream quality. Sure you can use your phone/tablet or PC to remote play but this is far more convenient for me. I can simply pick it up and start playing. The battery life is decent and about the same as a dualsense controller. The screen is bright and looks crisp. I was pleasantly surprised with the audio as well. I agree, this device isnt for everyone. But for me its perfect.

I was honestly surprised by how smooth and responsive the PS5 Portal is. The display is crisp, controls feel just like the DualSense, and the setup was super simple. As long as you have a strong Wi-Fi connection, this thing runs flawlessly. I can keep gaming even when the TV is in use, and it’s perfect for relaxing on the couch or playing in bed. Definitely worth it if you’re deep in the PlayStation ecosystem.

This makes gaming so much more convenient! The device looks and feels great, and really enhances the PS5 experience if you’re looking to enjoy your games in a different location from your usual setup. Glad I made the purchase and would recommend to anyone who might be on the fence.

Wow! This is much better than expected. My PS5 is hard-wired via Ethernet, and this connects to the same router as the PS5 via Wifi. I have never had any lag or speed issues. Even though the screen is IPS, it's still bright and colorful, and I had no problems playing any of my titles. Lightweight, pleasant in the hand to hold. Now I'm not restricted to the chair and TV; I can lie on the couch, lie in bed on these cold nights, and play. I love these thing, I have the Legion Go 2, totally different product I know, but for my use, I prefer this and it's a 10th of the cost

PlayStation Portal is a comfortable, well-built handheld that streams PS5 games with a sharp 8-inch screen and DualSense-style controls. On strong Wi-Fi, it feels smooth and responsive, perfect for couch or bed play. However, it can’t play games locally, and performance drops on weaker networks. Audio options are limited.

Portal is good but not for online game play as even with the best internet connection it will cut off stream. Also for people without P5 they can play stream games for about $18 or $20 a month only. The is nice details everything display is great batter last for about 4 to 5 hours so far since playing

One of the bestttt purchases iv made in a long while...clear..fast..very impressed..(!!ATTENTION/REMINDER this is not a stand alone thing you NEED a ps5 console as a whole this is for REMOTE play Only so you will need to be able to connect to the actual ps5 itself...!!!)

Purchased open box for $140. And for that price a great supplement to the PS5. Remote play and cloud streaming requires a solid internet connection, and can be spotty if you dont have full signal, even with 2Gbps Fiber, so make sure you are close to your router. But for a gamer dad, this device allows me to play games casually more than ever. Just dont expect to reliably play multiplayer games due to latency. However, ive been playing Arc Raiders through cloud streaming to do low risk loot raids when my familiy’s using the TV and its been a blast.

I’m really impressed with the PlayStation Portal. The screen quality is excellent, the controls feel just like the PS5 controller, and gameplay is smooth with a good Wi-Fi connection. It’s perfect for playing while someone else uses the TV. Setup was fast and easy, and it works exactly as expected. Definitely worth it for PS5 fans.

Great for what it is. Nice to be able to play my PS5 games while the kid watches Monster Jam. Make sure your PS5 is hard wired to your router. Also turn off HDMI-CEC so waking your PS5 doesn’t turn on your TV when connecting with the Portal. COD is playable online when on the same router with minimal input lag, input lag is greater when playing remotely thru WiFi, like at a hotel. Get a skin, case and screen protector! You can’t stream media, only play cloud games or games on your PS5.

This is perfect if you want to play while someone else uses the TV. Yes is not perfect depending on your interest speed. If you have plus premium, you can play without the need of a ps5. Also you can play your library while someone else plays on the ps5.

This handheld gaming device has been a great purchase. The performance is smooth, the graphics look sharp, and games load quickly without lag. The controls feel comfortable and
responsive, and the overall build quality feels solid. The screen is bright and clear, which makes playing for long sessions much more enjoyable. Battery life is decent, and the device stays cool even during more demanding games. If you're looking for a portable system that delivers console-level power, this is an excellent choice.

The PlayStation Portal honestly surprised me. I didn’t expect much, but it works really well for playing my PS5 around the house. The screen looks great, the controls feel just like the regular DualSense, and it’s super comfortable to use.
You do need a good Wi-Fi connection if the signal drops, you’ll notice it. But when the connection is solid, the gameplay feels smooth and responsive. It’s not a standalone console, but for relaxing in bed, on the couch, or anywhere at home without using the TV, it’s really convenient and does exactly what I needed.

Excellent remote gaming experience.
The PlayStation Portal works great for remote play. The screen is bright and clear, the controls feel just like a DualSense controller, and the performance is smooth with very low lag on a good Wi-Fi connection. Setup was quick and easy, and it’s perfect for playing PS5 games when the TV is in use. The battery life is solid, and overall it delivers exactly what it promises. Highly recommended for PS5 owners.

It is extremely useful. It is a remote play so PS5 is needed to remotely access, but it connects better than any other device used for remote playing. The display is crystal clear and it keeps the viauals of the conaole so if used with a PS5 Pro it will look just as good. It also has a fearure to stream games directly from PS plus cloud.

Amazing. It’s almost as if I have two PS5s. With the recent update that Sony added you now can stream PS5 games with PS Plus Premium membership. I’ve yet to have any lag with my 5G internet in my apartment.
It’s well worth the 17.99 a month because they are adding more & more games to the line up which already contains like 100 or so games. You have PS3 games, PS2, just a crazy catalog. It’s nice to be able to lay in bed & play my games & still watch tv etc. The Switch finally has a bit of competition with this. I can’t imagine what the next handheld from Sony will be like. This is definitely a beta for something bigger to come, & with this update it is well worth your 199.99 + tax.

This is possibly one of the best pieces of technology I’ve purchased in a long time. It works effortlessly to connect to my PS5 and allows me the flexibility to play the games I want anywhere in my home without having to move the console. I love playing on the big screen but with some games this sometimes causes motion sickness over prolonged periods of intense game play. The Portal allows me to play in between, and reduces that sense of motion sickness.
The quality of the handheld is amazing, and the screen is big, bright, and gorgeous. The ergonomics of the grips are fantastic. It feels exactly like a Dualsense controller despite the added distance between the left and right grips due to the large screen. Battery life seems to be pretty normal, I have had no issues with it depleting faster than I need it to. The only improvement I could suggest is the placement of the USB-C charging port. It’s a little difficult getting it plugged in under the lip of the back of the device. It would be better suited to the top of the handheld so you don’t have to “dig” to get it in the port, and it would make it easier to charge while the device is still in use.
Overall, I’m extremely pleased with the Portal and I am excited to use it away from home when they bring game streaming out of beta. If you have been thinking about purchasing a Portal, do it. You will not regret it.

Great for PS5 owners who want to play anywhere at home. Streaming is smooth with solid Wi-Fi, controls feel just like a DualSense, and the screen looks sharp. Downsides: no native/cloud gaming and it’s useless without a PS5 or strong internet. Worth it if you mainly want portable PS5 Remote Play.
