Excellent screen . Works well with wifi 6 router. No glitches or drops in my condo. Really a pleasure to hold the games instead of always off the TV across the room. Not yet tried remotely, but I've used remote play on android and know what to expect (it's great when it works :)

The PlayStation Portal is honestly pretty awesome if you want to play your PS5 without being glued to the TV. It feels just like holding a DualSense controller with a big, bright screen stuck in the middle — in a good way. The controls are legit, the haptics feel great, and it’s super comfy to use for a long time. When your Wi-Fi is solid, the Portal works really well. Games look good, the connection feels smooth, and it’s perfect for chilling on the couch, in bed, or basically anywhere in the house. The catch? It only streams from your PS5. No apps, no cloud gaming, and you can’t even use normal Bluetooth headphones — you need PlayStation Link for wireless audio.

The perfect accessory for a PlayStation Fan with loose bowel , and /or a needy wife .. now when she begs me to come to bed , I just go , but bring the portal.. so now she has company and I can play helldivers 2 .. happy spouse , happy house.. Tho it IS NOT A Portable PlayStation .. just a controller connected to a WiFi enabled oled remote screen .. so only useful if you want to play in a WiFi 6 environment , It has very specific uses , and it fits perfect into my needs.. if you ever find your self at home and want to play ps5 but be free to sit anywhere your WiFi covers , then I highly recommend At the same price as the PlayStation edge controller , which has a pitiful battery . I find this a far more useful peripheral.. all around ..

Update your ps5 to ensure it can be paired with the portable. Otherwise, it is what we expected and my child loves it.

I love my portal. Especially after they drop the beta stream games on it now. The screen on it is amazing easy to see super comfortable to play with for hours.

I’ve been using my iPad paired with a dualsense for remote play since I’ve had my PS5, but this is just so much better and more convenient. Now, I can literally play my PS5 games just about anywhere and not have to worry about having somewhere to place my iPad while playing. The pottal also does great with reconnecting if it drops connection unlike the remote play app on tablets/phones. I tried a backbone for a while but hated tying up my phone to use just for that. My only complaints so far are that the touchpad integration feels kinda thrown in, and I’m also not a huge fan of the PS button placement. It’s not perfect, no…but I’ve been loving it since I got it.

I think the Portal is a great thing to use. I feels great in your hands and the display is great. The only big issue i have is that there is no bluetooth and the 2 options playstation are releasing for the portal haven’t come out yet and costly a roughly combined ~$300. Haven’t had any bad experiences with this product at all.

Amazing, you won’t regret it. Now I can game from any room. Might need to have your pa5 connected to lan and not WiFi. Noticed it kicks me off the portal if it’s connected to WiFi.

The PlayStation portal is a joy to own. It is a convenient device that allows me to enjoy my favorite PS5 titles in the palm of my hand. I love its sleek design, and its display is so gorgeous. It lets me wake my console from sleep mode, which is incredible, and I can't wait to play future titles on it! It

Great for someone like me who has young children and rarely has time to sit in front of the TV and game. The only problem I have with it is shoddy connection. I have excellent wifi and equipment but i believe the connection issue has something to do with my mesh wifi setup. When it works on my wifi it runs great.

At it's core. This device is FANTASTIC for streaming PS5 games in(or out) of your home provided you have a sufficient wireless network and/or knowledge to improve it. That said, your streaming performance is based on that ALONE. The device itself could use some NATIVE cloud streaming which would make it WAY more attractive for the $200 price point. Lack of Bluetooth is not a complete deal breaker for me personally but I can understand why others would have an issue with it. Controller is best in class(obviously the dual-sense features are top notch) and trump all others configs/controllers on that alone and streaming has some minor hiccups here and there with regards to dropped frames(which seemingly are due to HDR and/or unplugging the HDMI cable as per reddit) but I am sure that knowing sony the device will be improved upon over time via firmware updates. In short, temper expectations with this device and look for great PS5 game streaming and/or cloud streaming (in the future hopefully via firmware update) and forget any thoughts of doing anything on the device natively due to mid tier(Qualcomm) chipset.

For those whining about this…I’m not sure it’s fair to judge this item based in what it DOESN’T do…I’m not sure that’s the point of a customer review. If i wanted a detailed level of analysis on what this product should or could be, I’d look up ign or cnet lol. With that said, this product does exactly what’s advertised. It’s a remote player for your ps5, best used around the house. It’s perfect for when my tv is being used or i want to get some gaming in while in bed or lounging elsewhere. The screen is beautiful and while yes, i have a Backbone, this works so seamlessly and automatically. The controller is solid and feels just loke a dualsense in your hand. Yes, you need a reliable internet connection that isn’t choppy lol. Trying to download or update something on your ps5 while using might also cause some lag. All in all, big ups to Sony and I recommend to all my fellow casual gamers that just don’t want to be stuck or restricted by their main tv’s. Hardcore gamers looking for a ps Vita replacement will be disappointed.

Originally, it was a remote play device, but with a recent update, it allows you to stream games from Sony (with a premium subscription), which is pretty cool. The games catalog is quite extensive, featuring some top titles. Unfortunately, I found myself not playing it much because the latency that was occasionally noticeable, and the quality would drop. Even when it worked well, I had to stay fairly close to my router, and even then there were occasional hiccups. Maybe my internet wasn’t good enough (500 Mbps).
