Really great for gaming if you have a fmaily and they need the tv for somthing else, play your PS games while you kids watch there shows. Just be mindful of how far away you are from the Playstation itself and the wifi modem or get somthing to boost or a wifi repeater.

The portal has been an awesome accessory device for me. I understand that not everyone is going to have the same experience due to different networking setups, but for mine, it has worked flawlessly. It's made me play my PlayStation way more helped me get even more value out of it

This thing gets used daily. Obviously can’t compare to sitting in front of a larger TV but it’s great if lounging on the couch, killing some time. We’ve taken it on vacation using remote connection. We have found this works well for the most part though games that require instant response may/may not have a seamless experience due to some network lag.

Great for what it is. Nice to be able to play my PS5 games while the kid watches Monster Jam. Make sure your PS5 is hard wired to your router. Also turn off HDMI-CEC so waking your PS5 doesn’t turn on your TV when connecting with the Portal. COD is playable online when on the same router with minimal input lag, input lag is greater when playing remotely thru WiFi, like at a hotel. Get a skin, case and screen protector! You can’t stream media, only play cloud games or games on your PS5.

I bought this because I would like to be out of my bed when I am playing games. Pros: - very good for adventure, JRPG, casual games. -beautiful screen. LCD screen but good quality. I don't notice backlight bleed. cons: - not for fast paced games where reaction time is very important. - not recommended for FPS games, latency is okay, but you will feel it. -also, I don't recommend this to horror game fans. it is an LCD panel, so you'll notice greyish instead of deep black on dark scenes. ** you need a ps5 to play on this** **this accessory is for casual gamers** if you have extra money - buy this if you like single payer games and don't wanna be tied on your tv. or buy the ps5 edge controller if you're always playing FPS or any fast-paced games that rely on reaction time.

Very nice device. Works amazingly at home with crystal clear graphics. When away from home, graphics drop significantly but I haven’t had any issues with lag.

After spending real time with the PlayStation Portal, I can confidently say this device fills a very specific niche — and if you fall into it, it’s fantastic. If you don’t, it might feel limited.

The PlayStation portal is a Great device. It allows you to play your PlayStation 5 without being tethered to the TV. Since I've had it that it's been my favorite way to play my PlayStation in a way. However, that comes at a cost sometimes. If the internet is not great then it suffers because it is a remote player, not a stand-alone console. If you're downloading something else while trying to stream at the same time, your game play suffers. However, when things are great with this device, things are really great. The visual quality is great. The gameplay feels like a PlayStation. 5. Dual sense in your hand. The screen puts out very well, so I think that if you were to buy it, knowing that this is not a Nintendo switch, where's a standalone device okay? If you're okay with that, then you should have no problems with this device because it is quite fine.

I was honestly surprised by how smooth and responsive the PS5 Portal is. The display is crisp, controls feel just like the DualSense, and the setup was super simple. As long as you have a strong Wi-Fi connection, this thing runs flawlessly. I can keep gaming even when the TV is in use, and it’s perfect for relaxing on the couch or playing in bed. Definitely worth it if you’re deep in the PlayStation ecosystem.

Being part of the portal nation, i see all these 1 stars and i think those are trash reviews. I have never seen lag in any of my games that i've played and it's been super smooth. Setup to your ps5 is super easy also. Compared to a steamdeck, you're losing in many fields, but you're winning in price of the device, not including the ps5, and couple other things. The device is very light and feels great on your hands. Steamdeck has a good feel but has a heftier feel. Portal also has no huge fan running. It's super quiet. Only bad things is there's no bluetooth support and external controller support. As a dad that plays at odd times, sound is not that much of an issue and I can just play on the device. It is great! those 1 star reviewers are probably putting their ps5 on wifi or their network is not great, but I don't have the best internet, i get 100 mbps, with my kids device, wife's phone, and the apple tv running. It's not an issue. You have to plug in your ps5 to your router for best result and not plug into a wifi extender either. You have to set yourself up for the best results. There's a reason why it's sold out.

I forgot that I pre-ordered this thing and definitely got nervous after the reviews but after handling it and using it in the house it is fantastic. I have decent wifi throughout the house and it only slowed down once noticeable when playing Spiderman, but wow how convenient and overall a bargain of what this thing is.

Wasnt sure about getting it after seeing reviews and used ones for sale. Peole have the wrong idea about how these works! It is not a game system by itself, it is just remote play and BETA cloud streaming! Plenty games to choose from on the beta to keep you entertained. Great for gaming away from home, at home, work, anywhere!
