The Portal was a neat concept but in the end, I ended up returning the device. My setup was a hard-wired Ethernet to PS5 and a higher-end tri band routers including WiFi 6E. I also have gigabit speed home internet. Unfortunately the Portal does not use anything above the 5ghz band however. I tested remote play on my iPhone and MacBook Pro prior to preordering the portal to make sure my setup was optimal. After having nearly a flawless experience with those devices. I decided to pick up the portal for the integrated dualsense controls and large display. I played multiple games but mainly focused on Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart and GT7. Both games worked ok but there was just a bit more input lag compared to other devices I’ve used. The connection would degrade significantly in Ratchet and Clank when any graphically intense scene with lots of moving items such as explosions. This made it unenjoyable to play these offline single player games. Playing any fast-past game online wasn’t even an option with the input lag. I wish Sony would add more functionality to the device like being able to watch movies or play Spotify or even include a browser for Netflix or so you could log onto public WiFi like in hotels since I travel a lot. As far as a subpar remote play device for use around the house, $200 felt like a bad value for this piece of tech.

A good to way entertain your kids or self while on a long road trip or simply want to lay down and chill instead of sitting up playing.

It is extremely useful. It is a remote play so PS5 is needed to remotely access, but it connects better than any other device used for remote playing. The display is crystal clear and it keeps the viauals of the conaole so if used with a PS5 Pro it will look just as good. It also has a fearure to stream games directly from PS plus cloud.

This makes gaming so much more convenient! The device looks and feels great, and really enhances the PS5 experience if you’re looking to enjoy your games in a different location from your usual setup. Glad I made the purchase and would recommend to anyone who might be on the fence.

Bought it last year and didn’t really use it much. But knew they would release an update to allow you to stream games without having the console on. So now I play it a lot more as a pick up and play when I have free time around the house. Works great with good WiFi. When the wifi isn’t great then it tends to lag or disconnect

This is amazing! Works much better than I was expecting, and much better than my phone or iPad was working over remote play! Love being able to play my PS5 wherever in my house, and on the go!

Somehow snagged one of these off of best buy’s website. Works great, streams my ps5 games very well and has worked better than remote play app on my iphone with a backbone. The screen is way nicer due to the size also. Haptics on the controller are just like a ps5 controller, which is great.

Honest Review: The idea of the portal is amazing, but you need to be ready to connect your Ps5 to the internet through a LAN cable. Too much of Lag while playing games if your ps5 is only connected on wifi. You will not enjoy the ps portal if all the devices are only connected to the wifi network. It is actually frustrating when you are ready to play a game but there is frequent disconnections. I had to return my portal back due to all these reasons.

Works as it should, everything was included. I was glad I was able to get one open box in such great condition.

Very fun addition for PS5 owners! It’s nice being able to use my TV for movies while still enjoying my favorite games on the couch! Would be great if Sony would make a standalone hand held, but this gets the job done for now. As always, bestbuy is great to work with.

No handheld felt as good as this did in my hands. Sadly the inconsistant connection. The inability to wake my ps5 now and then. The lag. 3 stars is the best I can do. 5 stars for comfort and screen. This is close but not there yet.

It’s the perfect edition to your p5 especially if you travel a lot for work. I can play with my loved one even when I can’t come home due to work.

I've been wanting a PS portable for a while now. Saw that there was a black one at the store, and I had to have it. It's great for streaming games or playing from the console. This makes gaming on the go so easy

This portal is amazing my fiancé lives his and takes it everywhere.. even though it was refurbished it looks and works like it was never used before.

Absolutely amazing device, with a few shortcomings. Nothing particularly intrusive that a device restart doesn't fix, but the PS Portal will occasionally be unable to find the PS5 for no particular reason. Once connected though, it really shines.

Recently picked up a PlayStation Portable, and it completely brought back the joy of handheld gaming for me. The design is sleek, the screen is bright, and the controls feel natural. I’ve been replaying God of War and Midnight Club, and the gameplay still holds up after all these years. It's amazing how something this old can still feel so fresh and fun. Definitely worth it for any gamer or collector looking for a portable classic.
