This console add value to any PS user. The device works connected to your main console or on its own. You can stream games (with a plus memebership) off your library or off the free plus games. No game needs to be downloaded on to the device, which is nice. I find it useful, since you can use the console and this device simultaneously. There is a great selection of games to stream from. You do need WiFi to stream, and I have not had any issues playing this in my network or public ones. It is not meant to replace you console, but it is a nice device to have. It’s light enough that even young kids can use it. My kids love it.

The System itself is NOT a stand alone system. you cant install or have a separate slot for games, and this is why people are so disappointed with the system. It works for me, as long as you have a decent internet connection, you can connect to your PS5, or play from the cloud which has hundreds of games to choose from ( PS plus). Perfect for gaming if people at home are watching tv and you want to play. Graphics are awesome, gaming is as good as playing your console, and comfortable to use. only bad thing is you have to use a 3.5mm jack for headset. it has no bluetooth capability to connect to unless you buy the PS headsets. So far love it, but if you are looking for a stand alone system, this is not for you.

Middle aged guy here telling the world I'm not ashamed to waste my quiet with the portal. Although it needs a hotspot i love it! The screen is the perfect size and drfintion is soerfect for my aging eyes. The controls feel pretry good in my hands and anyone elses to if youre use to playstation. I waited slong time to get this Nd it was worth the wait. User interface is sinple settings are easy the volume control percectly placed and it sounds pretty good.. this is a portable gaming device nothing more nothing less.. if you love gaming while traveling or become bored on a date. If youre not good enough to get on the field during friday night lights well bring this with you.. time will pass you by quickly. 8/10

    A Solid Sidekick with Limits

The PlayStation Portal Remote Player is a decent device overall, but it does come with some limitations that make it feel like a bit of a letdown. When it works well, the screen looks great, controls feel solid, and it’s convenient for playing PS5 games around the house without needing a TV. However, performance is highly dependent on a strong and stable Wi‑Fi connection, and any network issues can impact gameplay. While it’s a cool concept and works as intended in ideal conditions, it doesn’t quite feel essential and may not meet everyone’s expectations. That said, it’s still a pretty good device overall, especially for dedicated PlayStation users who understand its limitations.

    PSP Mega Upgrade (PS5 required)

Total upgrade to the PS Vita and if you own a Back Bone controller. The screen is bigger than I thought it was and makes me feel like I have the PS5 in my hand. The graphics are great and the sound quality is 100%. The only downside is having a stable wifi connection. I have a wireless router, and it works wonderfully, but there are moments where it will act up and cut me off in gameplay (but thanks to the game recognizing my absence, it will pause the game due to no connection to a controller). Overall, 10/10 would recommend to anyone who wants to upgrade their PlayStation experience.

This was a great impulse buy. I had been debating on getting one for a while and I'm glad I finally did. Some games were just MADE for the Portal (Dave the Diver, Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, etc.) This is especially great for those of us who don't have central air conditioning and have to be in the coolest room. The screen is bright and the colors are great and it is super comfortable to hold for those longer gaming sessions. It has some good weight to it, doesn't feel cheaply made or anything. If you are on the fence about the portal, just get it! You won't regret it!

Honestly, at first, I didn’t have much use for the device because, let’s face it, if you are at the same place as your physical console you’ll just rather play on a bigger screen. However, I had to travel for work and, as you all can agree, it was impractical to travel light with good old ps5 in a carry on. That’s when I tapped into the full potential of the PS Portal. Imagine going through Elden ring withdrawal light years away from your console and then being able to access it (as long as you leave it in rest mode) from afar and, as long as the wifi is good, play seamlessly on your PS Portal. It became the metaphorical last coke on the planet and I enjoyed it as if I was playing on the actual big screen at home (yes, at nearly 60 fps). Give it a shot. I highly recommend it!!!

ITS WORTH IT!!! The streaming quality is surprisingly smooth as long as you have decent Wi-Fi. Games look sharp, the controls feel exactly like a DualSense, and there’s basically no learning curve. It really feels like you’re holding a full PS5 controller with a screen in the middle. If you have a PS5 and want more freedom in when and where you play, the PS Portal is absolutely worth it. It’s simple, it works, and it makes gaming way more convenient.

Perfect for streaming Playstation games only

Works great for its very specific purpose of streaming PS5 games. It would be great if Sony opened it up to allow streaming through Geforce Now, Steam, or other 3rd party applications. Screen size is right where it should be for a handheld, and the controller grips are some of the best designed and most comfortable out there for a handheld. My only problem with it is that it's tied exclusively to the Playstation format when (admittedly more expensive) competitors like the Logitech G Cloud, Steam Deck, and ROG Ally have no such restrictions.

Its an excellent remote player. I like it better than using my phone or tablet. Sony deciding not to add bluetooth capabilities is a head scratcher but there are ways around it. The screen is vibrant and large enough to enjoy gaming on the go. I've used this with my hotspot and other wifi away from home and aslong as the wifi is strong enough it works great with minor frame drops. Battery life is decent and lasts longer with some minor tweaks to settings. Pricing is where it should be. Overall a great item that does what its intended to do very well, with some minor issues that are easily remedied.

Probably one of my favorite pieces of tech. Being able to play when I travel or somebody else’s occupying that TV I can still play my game and not watch love is blind. Definitely with all the updates that they continuously push.

Hook up your ps5 to ethernet and it will play smooth as butter. Before I did that there were frame rate and connectivity issues. Since then it has played great. Great battery and screen.
