I like the design its easy to use as a long time playstation and controller user comfortable to use and easy to set up, some annoyances that come with it is nothing major or bad enough not to recommend but a bit of a pain when it comes to visual quality dropping with me playing it in another room with constant unstable network connection dropping remote play visual quality

Let’s talk about what this thing ISNT to clear confusion. It’s not a standalone game player, and it’s not even the type of device you take with you to play on the train, plane, or even on crappy hotel WiFi. If you want to buy for those reasons, you’ll be disappointed.
IF you’re a parent who doesn’t have the TV available in your home network, you want to play while laying in bed, or want to have quick sessions while holding a baby in one arm, then this is the device for you. With a strong local WiFi connection and a wired ps5, you’ll get excellent performance, true controller functionally, and a high fidelity screen. It’s worth it if you’re a member of a relatively slim target market.

There's pros and cons but you have to remember it's $200. If you have weak wifi, don't even bother playing, it's horrible. However, if you're connected to fast wifi the portal works great. It's a bigger Nintendo switch with better graphics and better games. If you want something that's versatile and media app friendly, spend the extra money on a steam deck or the aids rog. Those are about triple the cost but can do more. This is cheaper than a switch, so yes expect it to do less. It's advertise to be a remote play controller, and it's good at doing that. On good wifi, latency is fast. Lag isn't really there

You really have to know what you’re getting into when you purchase a PlayStation portal. It is a streaming device that essentially has no off-line capabilities other than an options menu. If you go into this purchase, knowing that, you are really going to enjoy this device. It’s streaming capabilities without even having to turn on my PS5 is a game changer

Having had this for a month. The device is great! Well built and makes you feel like you’re holding a ps5 controller in your hands. Screen is awesome!
Now why did I not give it a 5 stars:
- have a really solid home network and even turned QOS up for this device and still get laggy moments. I think it’s more ps5 being able to handle and support the data more than it is my WiFi.
- other minor item is games that use the center touch area of the ps5 controller. It’s hard to access and area is smaller than the controller so some actions are tough.
In all great device! Esp love can be gaming while “watching” an episode with the wife.

So at first when i bought this beauty it kept disconnecting and lagging. Time and a few patches later and it rocks! I looked up videos to optimize the peformance and by switching off HDR, and a few other tweaks it works well. Sometimes my orbi router needs a reboot to get this device rolling well, but it does. Its perfect for short gaming sessions for that gamer with a busy life. When it works its pretty awesome. Its just subject to internet bandwidth is low, during peak hours. Disconnects still happen but its nowhere near as bad as when it first launched.
