Wonderful concept, but diluted experience.

I was excited for this. I primarily got this to play my PS5 in different rooms, rather than having to lug the console around. I'm a bit of a tech snob, I play on an OLED and I lean towards performance when given the option.
I used it a few times - I have a hardwired PS5 and good wifi (500MB). When I was in the room with the playstation, it was great connectivity but even traveling to other rooms, the image quality did break a little. Never prevented me from playing, but shook my confidence in the device. Otherwise, the 1080 screen was beautiful, and the games I played in 60fps looked great.
I love how it felt to hold - extremely comfortable and really helped with the immersion factor.
The battery life is pretty bad - maybe 3-4 hours on default settings. Reducing haptic feedback or volume can get you a bit more, but I love the haptic feedback feature and usually like to crank it. That being said, even at full power, the haptics on this device are much more subtle compared to playing on a regular controller.
Finally, small thing, but the trackpad button on this is a bit non-intuitive -- touching the screen opens up the trackpad button on screen overlayed atop the game and isn't super easy to work with.
At the end of the day, this is a streaming device that your PS5 casts to, and as such provides a diluted experience from the full power of playing on console on a nice TV with haptics cranked up. I love the concept, and it does allow portable play, but for the cost, I personally would rather just save up the extra cash for a second PS5 to be able to play elsewhere.

User experiences it great when it’s working well however definitely have a few complaints. No bluetooth which is silly and seems like a money grab to use the proprietary Somy link technology. The initial connection to the PS5 is very wonky when the PS5 is in restmode. Other than that very enjoyable

It is a really good item if you spend a lot of time out of the house but the device depends on the WiFi signal on both your PS5 and your portal. If the signal on either are interrupted or poor it doesn’t work well.

Great product. You can set your PS5 in “Rest Mode” and use this to play remotely through WiFi. Only downside is, the WiFi you use can’t be one of those where you have to “accept terms conditions”, for example a library or a museum. It has to be a direct access type of of WiFi.

There are a few dumb restrictions either built into the thing (no streaming streamed games) or there because of legal whatever (you're not going to be watching anything on here, thanks DRM laws), but otherwise a pretty good product for what it is.

It's an amazing portable device that acts as an extension to the PS5. The only issues anyone will have with this device will be attaining good wifi connections while away from your home wifi. If your wifi connection is slow, the game appears grainy, but it's still playable. The speakers are good enough to hear everything from the game. I have no issue this part of the device. My issue is with the fact Sony did not make Bluetooth available to connect to head phones or earbuds of your choice. Is you want ear buds, you will have to pay for the ones sony will release soon that will only work for this device and the PS5 but the catch is the $200 price tag you will have to pay.

Screen bigger than anticipated, Image a little blurry when you first connect to your PS5 using remote play, but after that it is nice and sharp. Sound good, both on the device and while using headphones.

Its awesome clear picture and feels likena controller just a tad bit bigger. And no input lag either as far as i can tell. Perfect travel buddy only downside is you need internet to play. But all in all i would recommend.

Does exactly what I wanted it to. I can play my games while my fiance watches her shows. If you have decent internet, there isnt any lag at all. Ive had a hitch here or there but thats more an internet issue, not something on the Portal. Definitely recommend hardwiring your PS5, helps the experience a lot.

Great way to play PS5 games remotely. The screen is big and has great picture quality for an LCD. It runs very smoothly. Would've looked better with an OLED screen, but that would increase its cost. Overall excellent product.

The ability to play your PS5 from just about anywhere is a game changer. Provided you have a good wi-fi at home, or even away the PlayStation Portal exceeded my expectations. It works great with just about every game. There is a little bit of input lag on Call of Duty MWIII but that was expected.

I used it at home and away from home, and it works great. I played several hours of FF7 remake and had minimal streaming issues.
If Sony releases PSnow/Plus integration, it will be the cherry on top.
