This PlayStation portal is awesome. It is exactly what my husband wanted. He wanted something he could play his ps5 on even away from home, he originally got a backbone for his phone from another place, but it would not work very great. Then when he saw this at best buy I got it for him for Christmas and he said it works great! He can play it anywhere with wifi or a hotspot and the quality on the device is perfect. Even I have started to enjoy it as well. Highly recommend!

Wasnt sure about getting it after seeing reviews and used ones for sale. Peole have the wrong idea about how these works! It is not a game system by itself, it is just remote play and BETA cloud streaming! Plenty games to choose from on the beta to keep you entertained. Great for gaming away from home, at home, work, anywhere!

I picked up the PlayStation Portal for myself after realizing the TV in my house is permanently claimed by my three kids. This thing has been a lifesaver. Setup was quick, and once it synced to my PS5, I was gaming from the couch, the backyard, or wherever I could grab a little peace and quiet.
The screen looks great, the controls feel just like the DualSense, and it’s surprisingly comfortable to use for long sessions. Every now and then, it’ll lose connection to the PS5 or the image will get a bit pixelated, but it always reconnects quickly and keeps going strong.
If you’ve got a full house and still want to squeeze in some gaming time without fighting over the TV, this little device is a game-changer.

I recently bought a console, but I travel for work and was disappointed that I wouldn’t get to use my console at home much. I was on the fence about this until the newest update came out for cloud streaming. This portal is AMAZING. The only downfall is having to pay for the PlayStation plus premium if you want to use it on the go and not have to worry about your console at home being in rest mode. I do love the fact that I can be using the portal and the console at the same time, as long as two accounts are being used.

It runs really well and is very convenient when you share living space with others. I don't like that whenever you want to switch profiles you have to sign completely out and sign back in with the other account. On the Playstation, you can just switch accounts. And i wish there was a function for adjusting the screen display, not just make it brighter or darker. I'd like to be able to adjust the contrast for example.

Honestly thought this was going to suck and i was going to return it after a day. Well I'm not ever returning it. If you have a good internet connection and ps pro it works amazing. Super impressed with this accessory to the PS

Amazing. It’s almost as if I have two PS5s. With the recent update that Sony added you now can stream PS5 games with PS Plus Premium membership. I’ve yet to have any lag with my 5G internet in my apartment.
It’s well worth the 17.99 a month because they are adding more & more games to the line up which already contains like 100 or so games. You have PS3 games, PS2, just a crazy catalog. It’s nice to be able to lay in bed & play my games & still watch tv etc. The Switch finally has a bit of competition with this. I can’t imagine what the next handheld from Sony will be like. This is definitely a beta for something bigger to come, & with this update it is well worth your 199.99 + tax.

I was honestly surprised by how smooth and responsive the PS5 Portal is. The display is crisp, controls feel just like the DualSense, and the setup was super simple. As long as you have a strong Wi-Fi connection, this thing runs flawlessly. I can keep gaming even when the TV is in use, and it’s perfect for relaxing on the couch or playing in bed. Definitely worth it if you’re deep in the PlayStation ecosystem.

Great for what it is. Nice to be able to play my PS5 games while the kid watches Monster Jam. Make sure your PS5 is hard wired to your router. Also turn off HDMI-CEC so waking your PS5 doesn’t turn on your TV when connecting with the Portal. COD is playable online when on the same router with minimal input lag, input lag is greater when playing remotely thru WiFi, like at a hotel. Get a skin, case and screen protector! You can’t stream media, only play cloud games or games on your PS5.

Since purchasing my PS Portal, they have only made it better! Cloud streaming has made this a handheld anyone with or with or without PlayStation should buy. All you need is a PlayStation account and a yearning to play games on the go!

Great for playing games around the house if you don't want to move your console or someone else is using the TV. Does take some getting used to playing on it but you get used to it quickly. I do really like how they have the controller handles compared to other handheld consoles. I think that's what separates this from others.

Had a trip to Orlando and took it and it was amazing it was functioning well and had no problems with the connection. I recommended leaving your ps5 on rest mode that way if you have the ps app you can turn it on anywhere your at and could use your ps portal.

I bought this device for my significant other and he loves it! It connects seamlessly with our home console for on the go use and has good audio quality. The traditional controller buttons make this device familiar and easy to use. The device does feel fragile when not in use. so we did find a great carrying case and screen protector for some added protection. Great buy!

Probably one of my favorite pieces of tech. Being able to play when I travel or somebody else’s occupying that TV I can still play my game and not watch love is blind. Definitely with all the updates that they continuously push.

This makes gaming so much more convenient! The device looks and feels great, and really enhances the PS5 experience if you’re looking to enjoy your games in a different location from your usual setup. Glad I made the purchase and would recommend to anyone who might be on the fence.

I usually do not do reviews, but I absolutely love this device and the Midnight Black color! It is a great way to play your PS5 games in handheld mode and catch up on that nagging backlog. My PS5 console had been collecting dust recently due to my busy life schedule but since buying the portal I have not picked up my Switch 2 in days. I also love the cost of the device as well given how expensive gaming has become as of late.

This is a great addition to having a PS5. Streaming could service games as well direct from hardware works without a hitch. Have used in variety of internet scenarios, home/hotel/cell hotspot, without any major issues. Its great to play in places other then in front of the TV. Patio, travel, etc.

I’ve been using my iPad paired with a dualsense for remote play since I’ve had my PS5, but this is just so much better and more convenient. Now, I can literally play my PS5 games just about anywhere and not have to worry about having somewhere to place my iPad while playing. The pottal also does great with reconnecting if it drops connection unlike the remote play app on tablets/phones. I tried a backbone for a while but hated tying up my phone to use just for that. My only complaints so far are that the touchpad integration feels kinda thrown in, and I’m also not a huge fan of the PS button placement. It’s not perfect, no…but I’ve been loving it since I got it.

This is possibly one of the best pieces of technology I’ve purchased in a long time. It works effortlessly to connect to my PS5 and allows me the flexibility to play the games I want anywhere in my home without having to move the console. I love playing on the big screen but with some games this sometimes causes motion sickness over prolonged periods of intense game play. The Portal allows me to play in between, and reduces that sense of motion sickness.
The quality of the handheld is amazing, and the screen is big, bright, and gorgeous. The ergonomics of the grips are fantastic. It feels exactly like a Dualsense controller despite the added distance between the left and right grips due to the large screen. Battery life seems to be pretty normal, I have had no issues with it depleting faster than I need it to. The only improvement I could suggest is the placement of the USB-C charging port. It’s a little difficult getting it plugged in under the lip of the back of the device. It would be better suited to the top of the handheld so you don’t have to “dig” to get it in the port, and it would make it easier to charge while the device is still in use.
Overall, I’m extremely pleased with the Portal and I am excited to use it away from home when they bring game streaming out of beta. If you have been thinking about purchasing a Portal, do it. You will not regret it.
