I think the Portal is a great thing to use. I feels great in your hands and the display is great. The only big issue i have is that there is no bluetooth and the 2 options playstation are releasing for the portal haven’t come out yet and costly a roughly combined ~$300. Haven’t had any bad experiences with this product at all.

Looks good, but falls short where it matters The display and ergonomics are solid, but the lack of HDR support is puzzling—especially since most TVs and PS5 setups run HDR by default. VRR isn’t needed here, but HDR should have been included. The bigger issue is connectivity. This device only supports Wi-Fi 5, which feels outdated. At minimum, it should’ve shipped with Wi-Fi 6E for smoother streaming. Since the Portal can only stream games (either through your PS5 or PS Plus), network performance is everything—and it simply doesn’t deliver. I ended up selling mine, as I get a much better experience streaming to my PC handheld. Third-party apps let you boost bitrate, and with Wi-Fi 6E the stream quality is noticeably sharper. For $200, this should be the best PS5 streaming device on the market. While the DualSense integration is nice, the shortcomings outweigh the benefits. I cannot recommend this product.

First off, it’s beautiful! I recently bought a PS5…my first PlayStation since getting the original PS1 back in the day. The first game I got was Spider-man and OMG! This game was beautiful! Upgrading the storage was a breeze! I’ve been with Xbox for the longest and now PlayStation is bringing me to the dark side. I love the remote play. Since I bought my portal, there’s been about two huge upgrades that makes you want this to be your main form of play. This thing is awesome! The screen is beautiful and I love the controls!

This purchase has been a very large leap 8n gaming for me. I know that this device is not a stand alone portable gaming device, but it has truly given me the ability to clear my back log of games. While at the same time allowing the rest of the family that same alloted time for shows or movies. A big win all around.

This is the only way I can play my PlayStation five away from home. Excellent but the my the Wi-Fi connection doesn’t matter on the quality of the picture but overall A+.

The PS portal surprised me with how much I actually use it. It's perfect for when the TV is in use and it connects fairly easily so I can play even if I can't use the TV I have it hooked up to. It does occasionally struggle to connect due to you have to be fully signed into the console first but most of the time it only takes two or three tries to get it to connect.

At it's core. This device is FANTASTIC for streaming PS5 games in(or out) of your home provided you have a sufficient wireless network and/or knowledge to improve it. That said, your streaming performance is based on that ALONE. The device itself could use some NATIVE cloud streaming which would make it WAY more attractive for the $200 price point. Lack of Bluetooth is not a complete deal breaker for me personally but I can understand why others would have an issue with it. Controller is best in class(obviously the dual-sense features are top notch) and trump all others configs/controllers on that alone and streaming has some minor hiccups here and there with regards to dropped frames(which seemingly are due to HDR and/or unplugging the HDMI cable as per reddit) but I am sure that knowing sony the device will be improved upon over time via firmware updates. In short, temper expectations with this device and look for great PS5 game streaming and/or cloud streaming (in the future hopefully via firmware update) and forget any thoughts of doing anything on the device natively due to mid tier(Qualcomm) chipset.

It is very high quality and cheap for what it has. you can play it from around the world and on the road. if it is laggy it means you need a stronger connection. So overall i would recommend buying this product.

Excellent screen . Works well with wifi 6 router. No glitches or drops in my condo. Really a pleasure to hold the games instead of always off the TV across the room. Not yet tried remotely, but I've used remote play on android and know what to expect (it's great when it works :)

The perfect accessory for a PlayStation Fan with loose bowel , and /or a needy wife .. now when she begs me to come to bed , I just go , but bring the portal.. so now she has company and I can play helldivers 2 .. happy spouse , happy house.. Tho it IS NOT A Portable PlayStation .. just a controller connected to a WiFi enabled oled remote screen .. so only useful if you want to play in a WiFi 6 environment , It has very specific uses , and it fits perfect into my needs.. if you ever find your self at home and want to play ps5 but be free to sit anywhere your WiFi covers , then I highly recommend At the same price as the PlayStation edge controller , which has a pitiful battery . I find this a far more useful peripheral.. all around ..

This device is decent when it works. I did my research before buying it and after so many reviews on YouTube I understood I was taking a gamble. This device will work well or not at all depending on your WiFi. You might need to consider purchasing a device to amplify your WiFi connection if there are other people in your home streaming or just using the WiFi in general. As far as ease of use this device is pretty self explanatory and it doesn’t have many options for optimizing performance. I have seen some reviews about people taking it on trips and to different places but this device is not a Legion go or any other type of handheld that acts as a mini computer or even a small portable console like a Nintendo switch. For all of those hoping to use this device and have 0 issues especially when using it outside your home, BEWARE. The signal would drop from time to time and it would log me out. There is also a stutter that occurred from time to time but it’s alright for story mode games. For competitive online shooters like Fortnite and MWW it is HORRIBLE. Very laggy. This product is made for a very specific audience like myself who has kids. This is perfect to have around the house when the family is occupying the TV or computer. It is definitely overpriced for what it is. If this device was closer to $99 I would’ve understood. Also in regards for audio I would give it a 5/10. The sound isn’t very clear without any type of headphones. That being said another thing to consider. I have the Sony buds and the portal will not connect to those. I have to connect them to my PS5 and then mute the portal and the sound form the ps5 will continue into the buds. Overall I ended up returning this device after about a month. Wasn’t terrible but not worth the money with all the headaches that it brings.

Great for someone like me who has young children and rarely has time to sit in front of the TV and game. The only problem I have with it is shoddy connection. I have excellent wifi and equipment but i believe the connection issue has something to do with my mesh wifi setup. When it works on my wifi it runs great.

It is a nice looking piece of tech. It don’t take much to connect it to your PS5 and start playing. A couple issues is that even with good internet, it gets spotty and frame rate drops, and if you have an update in the background, yikes. And I wish the joysticks was the same size of the dualsense controllers, but that’s just a personal issue. It’s convenient when I want to watch a show and still play the game, hopefully it gets better the more supportive updates comes along.

The PlayStation portal is a joy to own. It is a convenient device that allows me to enjoy my favorite PS5 titles in the palm of my hand. I love its sleek design, and its display is so gorgeous. It lets me wake my console from sleep mode, which is incredible, and I can't wait to play future titles on it! It

Had a trip to Orlando and took it and it was amazing it was functioning well and had no problems with the connection. I recommended leaving your ps5 on rest mode that way if you have the ps app you can turn it on anywhere your at and could use your ps portal.
