PlayStation Portal: A Portable PS5 Powerhouse, But
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PlayStation Portal is a unique device that aims to bring the full PS5 experience to your hands. It's not a standalone console, but rather a dedicated streaming device that relies on your PS5 for processing power. So, how does it hold up? Let's dive in. Positives: Portability: This is the Portal's biggest strength. Playing demanding PS5 games on a large, comfortable screen anywhere in your home or even on the go is a truly liberating experience. Streaming Performance: Remote Play works surprisingly well, with minimal lag and latency even on strong Wi-Fi connections. The visual quality is impressive, often indistinguishable from playing directly on the PS5. Controller Integration: The built-in DualSense controller feels fantastic, with all the bells and whistles like haptic feedback and adaptive triggers intact. It's a seamless transition from the standard PS5 controller. PS Plus and Premium Integration: Accessing your PS Plus and Premium library is easy and convenient, opening up a vast library of games directly from the Portal. Negatives: Limited Functionality: The Portal is purely for streaming PS5 games. It can't access other apps, media services, or even basic functions like web browsing. This feels like a missed opportunity for a more versatile device. Wi-Fi Dependence: Your entire experience hinges on a good internet connection. Even a slight dip in Wi-Fi quality can lead to lag and stuttering, making it impractical for offline use. Lack of Bluetooth Audio: Surprisingly, the Portal doesn't support Bluetooth headphones, forcing you to use the built-in speakers or a wired headset. This feels like a major oversight for a device focused on portability and convenience. Price: At $200, the Portal isn't exactly cheap, especially considering its limitations. This might make it a tough sell for casual gamers or those who already own a good tablet or phone for Remote Play. Overall: The PlayStation Portal is a technically impressive device that delivers the core PS5 experience on a portable screen. However, its limited functionality, Wi-Fi dependence, and lack of certain features like Bluetooth audio hold it back from being a truly must-have. If you're a dedicated PS5 player who values portability and have a strong internet connection, the Portal is worth considering. But for others, it might be worth waiting for a more versatile and feature-rich iteration in the future.

Great to play games while family watches tv
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really great for gaming if you have a fmaily and they need the tv for somthing else, play your PS games while you kids watch there shows. Just be mindful of how far away you are from the Playstation itself and the wifi modem or get somthing to boost or a wifi repeater.

Perfect companion to the PS5
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was hesitant at first because it is a remote player but it is really worth it! The input lag is barely noticeable and the fact it can remote play anywhere is nice. There is some frame rate drops if there is a lot happening on the screen but it isn't too bad. If you want to play PS5 but also want to go out or play anywhere else this is totally worth it.

Fantastic Device for Travel
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this for travelling. The connection time varies depending on the network you have access to, but once it connects, you’re golden! The games available on the cloud for download and play are great as well. However I do wish they’d have more sports titles.

Think again
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start off by saying that the portal in concept is awesome, but in my time with it i foujd that it did not live up to what i expected. I know this is technically a streaming device only and nothing gets played on the portal natively but i feel like i should not have had the experience i had with it with the internet speeds i have. I see people posting YouTube videos saying they can technically play the device anywhere as long as they have Wifi which definitely did not work for me. I brought it to a friends house and never connected to my ps5 that was in rest mode at home. And even my experience at home was not great i had to go in change a bunch of settings in my portal and my router settings to make it work just a little bit better. Even with what i looked up and changed it still wasnt the greatest experience. Sooo anyways when it works its mind blowing to play God of War on a handheld at 60fps buuut in most case the connection was so bad i would get disconnected mutliple times in a session when i was in the room NEXT to my router, didnt even work downstairs for me. So if you want something you can just turn on and play without having to think then this is probably not for you. I am returning mine after some weeks and opting to get the steam deck instead.

Exceeded my expectations!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works perfectly on my home WiFi. Took about 15 minutes to get it updated and connected then it was game time. Battery lasts about 3 hours but that may vary. Fast shipping I ordered it on a Friday and had it by Monday.
