A Great Look Into the Future

This seemed to me to be the best balance of price and quality of all the options available right now and the experiences I've had with it have been great. Games like Statik, Farpoint (with the Aim controller), EVE Valkyrie, The London Heist from Playstation Worlds, Job Simulator, I Expect You To DIe, Superhot VR, and more have all been awesome. The big downside is that most games cost more and don't last as long as traditional games, so this is more for dedicated gamers who want to see what a possible future of videogames might be like or those interested in various, new experiences. I've had some motion sickness issues with Battlezone, Luge from PSVR Worlds, and RE7 and your mileage with that will vary. Even then, there are a bunch of low intensity games that are fully worth experiencing. This is the most "next-gen" feeling I've had with gaming since playing my first 3D game almost 20 years ago.

I finally bought this after much deliberation. Although I was able to test a unit in a Best Buy store prior to launch (and was suitably impressed) I didn't want to rush into the purchase at launch because I was curious to see some reviews and also to wait and see how well supported it would be. What finally tipped me was actually the release of Star Trek: Bridge Crew. I'm a massive sci-if fan and the ability to play cross-platform was a massive appeal. I picked the VR unit up with ST:BC, Driveclub VR and Eve Valkyrie. So far I have zero regrets, the unit is incredibly comfortable to wear even for a long session and the experience is truly immersive. Although the resolution is not as high as some other VR units and there can be some light bleed from the bottom of the headset it is still a different level of gaming. I have also not experienced and VR sickness, but I am being sensible about the length of session with the more intense games like EVE. As an added bonus I also can now play the DLC X-Wing VR mission on Battlefront and I defy anyone to try that and not be thrilled! Overall, I am very glad I bought this and would do so again.

I've been thoroughly testing out the PSVR equipment for a few weeks now, and with many friends. We have all been beyond impressed by the immersiveness of the VR experience. Also, I've personally experienced the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive as well. While all good headsets, the PS VR is the most affordable, with the most comfortable headset, and a very comparable experience. I highly recommend this as an excellent entry point into the VR experience!

PlayStation VR will be most people's introduction to 'good' VR. It's not perfect, but it's going after console gamers hard and, ultimately, it is still a truly awesome VR experience. There's nothing else in this category of quality but affordable VR, meaning PS VR is the benchmark for mainstream console VR. Plus, since launch there's been a steady stream of new titles, some from big franchises, such as Resident Evil 7.

So we bought this for our family (mostly for my husband, let's be real) and we've all really enjoyed it. The graphics are really good and truly make you feel like you're in the game. I almost forgot I was at one point and wanted to try to rest my arm on a table. Both my sons, age 4 and 8 have tried it out and like certain games. We haven't had it very long so I can't give a ton of feedback but so far it's really cool.

As a person that was extremely skeptical of “VR” tech being relevant or good at this time. But i was incredibly wrong. After the dem station i tried at launch i was floored by how much fun it was and how great it looked. I use for regular movies/Netflix shows, my regular 2d games on top of the extremely aggressive push of new games out between now and early next year. Seriously coolest thing ever. PSVR get it!!!

It’s amazing what they can do with technology these days. Incredible product, you feel like you could just reach out and touch the graphics! Make sure that you get the “Wands” that are sometimes sold separately, they make the gameplay experience so much more natural. The normal PS4 controller DOES work, but it seems to lose signal a lot and is more cumbersome than anything, at least with this type of game.

Pleasantly surprised (coming from an Oculus user)

So I returned my Oculus Rift after roughly 10 days with it and was left with buyer's remorse (even with the price drop, it still didn't convince me). The Rift does have superior motion tracking and controllers but there just wasn't enough CONTENT to take advantage of the pricey VR headset. So I returned it. In comes the PS4 VR. I was going in with low expectations since I was told many times that it was the inferior of the popular 3 that were out there (the HTC Vive being the other) and I was pleasantly surprised. The immersion of most of the games definitely gave you this "wow factor". And you absolutely must play this with headphones because it completes the immersion of using the headset. I'll break it down to Pros and Cons PROS: -Cheapest of the popular 3 VR headsets out there but not really much of a compromise since the image quality is roughly the same -The "screen door effect" isn't as noticeable as it was in the Oculus Rift -CONTENT (aka: games)!!! -Easiest VR headset to put on and take off. The Rift was like putting on a helmet and taking it off was a pain if you had to go to the bathroom -The immersion and wow factor is almost immediate once you get the focus down for your eyes CONS -To maintain a high framerate (necessary to reduce motion sickness), the games look like they are dumbed down a LOT. -If you played Resident Evil 7 without VR, the VR version truly compromises the graphics fidelity to keep the framerate up -The 'games' seem like tech demos. The only real game that felt like a GAME was Resident Evil 7 -Setup can be a pain. So many wires. Only the HTC Vive has more wires and gadgets involved to set this thing up -The headset will make your PS4 heat up quickly. Don't be surprised if you hear your PS4's internal fans blaring loudly Overall: At this price point, you can't go wrong. It's the weakest of the 3 popular VR headsets out there but the overall, the value proposition outweighs the other 2. When I had the Oculus Rift, I dropped $600 but it only worked well because my PC gaming rig cost about $1500 to build. If you already own a PS4, this is probably the most budget conscientious route to go since it goes more for a casual approach. Plus, if you have your PS4 connected to a TV, it makes for a better social gimmick since everyone in the room can see what you're seeing in the headset. Definitely a great product to own!

I was blown away with the VR experience the very first time using it. You would probably be amazed by it like me. Definitely a good first-gen VR product if you'd like to get a taste of what future gaming & entertainment is all about. I can't wait to see what Sony VR 2 and other VR products have to offer in the coming years. Hopefully they will come out with a better solution for people who suffer from motion sickness with VR devices.

I bought this for my son's birthday. After setting it up and using it for an hour he invited me to try it. I had the same feeling that the original Playstation gave me: this was something new. Seeing how the Playstation has evolved over the years makes me excited to see how VR will evolve in the future. Sony has done a nice job introducing this technology.

So i bought one of these on Black Friday and at first it was confusing. I figures it out later after I fell asleep and woke up. It works great. I wish they said that the X-Wing VR Mission requires a certain rank for usage. I think that is why it didn't work. A great buy though. I will probably be getting The Elder Scrolls Skyrim for it soon.

I was hesitant at first to purchase the PS4 VR. However my sons been asking for the longest. He really got a kick out of this. Its funny to watch him play some games are calm and others are jump scares. The bundle is totally worth it at its price point dare I say a steal. Price is totally worth it!

This was by far the best investment I made in a long time , it's a bit pricey but you definitely get what you pay for, the PS4 VR it incredible and MIND BLOWING, I've never seen anything like it in my life, the games are amazing and the graphics are indescribable, you something you have to witness for yourself , I think the only problem I would say I have with it, would be not being able to connect 2 at the same time, but I'm sure that's something new for the future, I think everyone should own it , I've tried others and there is NO comparison, the PS4 VR is the best in my opinion and you will not regret purchasing it , again all I can say was it is ABSOLUTELY ANAZING!!!

I have never tried VR before but now I'm hooked. It really brings a game to life. So much so while playing a game I was looking over the edge of a cliff and almost fell out of my chair because I thought I was going to fall off of the edge. I does take some getting used too but worth it.

This is the best and just like being at universal studios minus the ride car feeling. Must admit did not anticipate the queasy feeling with some games such as vr worlds and eve Valkyrie. Some family felt sick and others were fine. Bottom line is watch and limit the game play with kids

For the first time, I've tried out PlayStation's VR experience. It's definitely impressive given that the camera eye gives you an area to play in. However, I was a little disappointed with the graphics (granted, I'm picky). The graphics were just as good as Samsung's Gear VR (without cables). Otherwise, it was fun to play and recommend it for parties.
