Get this model over the more expensive TP LINK-650

My detached garage is about 50 feet from my house. I bought this to work with a smart garage opener, but the signal is not strong enough out there. However, it does not reach that far, however does work to extend to all the areas in my house. TP Link support is HORRIBLE. Also, their more expensive 650 model does not connect to my laptop, nest cam, or iPhone, but this model connects to all devices I have tried it with.

Nice network extender! A little tricky to set up but once up works good. Software download bait confusing could improve. Took me twice to get this working correctly.

I have had completely consistent viewing on my main television which is located on the opposite side of my home from my router. That’s including using my desktop and sometimes my laptop computers concurrently along with our 2 cell phones. I bought this extender to go with the TP-Link 2-pack (router +one small booster) I originally purchased. The small extender is now located midway between my router and my living room TV. This new range extender is plugged in to an outlet at my TV where I have used the Ethernet outlet to connect directly to the TV. This setup works flawlessly! I’m very happy with this purchase and recommend it highly (NOTE: the TP-Link router and range extender was also recommended in a recent issue of Family Handyman magazine as a more economical and effective range extender to the much more costly products on the market).

This is my first purchase of a TP Link product. Had a little trouble get it set up but contacted customer support and they couldn't do enough for me. Had it up and running in minutes. Pleasant surprised how far away I could place this from my router and still receive a strong signal. When a product does what it says it will do, that's all I can ask for.

A little concerned about a few of the reviews where people had issues with their setup, I took the plunge based on the positive reviews and the unit went on an excellent sale so decided I could always take it back if it gave me issues. Glad I did as the setup was a breeze. I have it on the far end of our house to allow for stronger connections with devices in the garage (which is separate and even farther away) and it works perfectly. Those devices would randomly send me notifications of a lost internet signal on a regular basis. Once I set this up (2.4 only, as I needed the range) , those have all gone away. Would definitely purchase, again.

Good extender that works well in a multi level building. It works well in our condo even in our basement. Also really like the Ethernet port for extra security and speed

Extended my network range all over my house

I love this extender. I have a TP-Link AX3000 router and this extender was simple to integrate. I use the TP-Link Tether app to install and manage the network including this extender. I have a very smart house with over 40 connected devices. I let the extender do the work. I setup the 2.4 and 5.0 ssid with the same name. So when I'm adding a new device, the network knows how to determine the correct connection (router or extender and 2.4 or 5.0) to balance the traffic. I have a large one story home and previous to adding this extender, we would periodically get device not active messages. I think my network was too crowded. Now we never get this message. This extender also solved the problem of going thru the exterior walls to get to the devices in my yard. I'm not really a techie. But it didn't take much understanding to get this extender installed and integrated into my network.

I use to have a Linksys wifi extender that i had to manage online. This device with TP-Link is compatible with the Tether App. It makes it soo much easier managing it like getting the device connected to your wifi router, seeing whats connected to the device, channels, and soo much more. I love the convenience. If you have a hard time connecting to 5ghz, be sure to go to the settings on the original wifi router and change the channel to 36 or 42. It’ll connect for sure afterwards

Needed to spread my WiFi through the house . Decide to pick this brand up as it had good reviews and a good value. Definitely recommend this product especially if you have dead spots in your house and if you have multiple devices hooked to the network. If your router is in the living room it makes it difficult for the other rooms in the house to get a strong WiFi signal. This product definitely helps with that by strengthening the WiFi for better reception.

This is the best investment I’ve made in months!! I had a terrible dead zone in the back of the house where the master bedroom is and my LG smart TV just would not connect automatically constantly had to manually connected until I purchased this. The TV now connects automatically within seconds and the Wi-Fi signal for everything seems stronger and faster with less of a strain at the main router. The only thing I wish TP Link would have done is merge this into one thing on the app both the extender and my main router are to link, Both devices are displayed in the app or separately I wish they would emerged it so all the devices are on one page but other than that it’s perfect

I think its working? Let's put it this way, my kids are not complaining about the internet not working in their rooms. Easy to install. I don't believe you have to spend any more money for an extender.

I bought this to replace my N300 range extender. I use this with an AC1900 router. I get much faster speeds from this range extender now. It was well-reviewed by many electronics websites and that helped me decide on it.
