Bulky and pricey, but gets the job done

The TP Link WiFi extender does a good job at extending WiFi coverage. I put it in the mud room to extend coverage to the security camera on the garage, and I no longer have interruptions in recordings. I give this product 3 stars because of the size and price of the product and difficult setup. The product is about the size (height and width) of two hands together. It also has a bright blue light that you can’t turn off. It’s somewhat of a good thing if you want to use it as a night light.

Great to extend a network signal

Using it as an Access Point (AP) gives it better performance than a simple Range Extender (RE). No need to try and boost a weak signal to begin with. We have Cat-6 throughout our home, so running this AC1750 from one of our network ports as an AP extends a Wi-Fi signal that our Verizon Wi-Fi 6 router cannot accomplish. We use this TP-Link-AC1750 (RE450) in the basement and a TP-Link-AC2600 (RE650) also as an RE on the 2nd Floor.

    Home on the Range

As good as it was reviewed. Only issue I had was yard and garage. 17,500 square foot yard is now almost completely covered and the detached garage has a signal. Read the instructions and setup is fast and easy if you have a modern router they will find each other with two button pushes. I just purchased a new wifi modem and it didn't connect to the 5G the first time but now it is right as rain.

Links up & stores last setting every time...

Following each step in EXACT ORDER and both 2.4ghz & 5ghz lights stay solid blue everytime !! If you have to unplug and move to a different/new location >> all 3 lights stop blinking = good to go ! No need to push the wps button a 2nd time.

Questions & Answers
  • Is this compatible with Windows 10

Yes, WiFi extenders are universally compatible with WiFi devices and do not rely on operating system compatibility since they function on the network layer, not the application layer.

  • I have a smart TV and use wireless internet/wifi from my phone company. I only use this in my living room and want to know if this device will improve the connection and speed. Or is an improved router a better answer.

Theoretically, it can help improve connectivity as long as WiFi signal strength/range are the current cause of the issue with your router. However, if the speed issue is due to the router itself or your service, please bear in mind an extender will only repeat the quality of signal it receives from your router. Regards, TP-Link Support

  • Does this extender have seamless roaming? Does it use the router SSID for seamless roaming? or do I have to switch over to the extenders SSID if I go out of range of my router but in range of the extender?

It supports seamless roaming using the router SSID. That is the way it is set-up and working in my home.

  • I own a TP-1750 Extender and Computer works great when in the area of the Extender. If I go to another area of (large house) I have to take the Extender with me . Can I use two extenders in different areas of the house and they with work together?

yes it can I currently have 2 extenders in the house and one in the garage, all different brands and they all work seamlessly together.

  • I need a wifi range extender that can allow me to put a battery powered wireless security camera away from my house and closer to the road. Is this something that will cast the wifi signal a 100ft (approx.) away from the house to the camera?

Where are you getting the wifi, do you have it on your router, if so this will pair with your router and your network. 100ft is getting to the outside of its range, depending on and obstructions/walls/ect a signal has to go through. if you try this or any extender, download a wifi meter from the play store to your phone and check your signal strength ant various places/distances.
