    Worst routers I’ve ever used. Returned.

    These routers are absolutely horrible: 1.They drop most devices daily. 2. You can’t manage router via LAN. 3. In AP mode they don’t do VLAN tagging. 4. Clients will be connected to LAN and not show in the app as connected. 5. The “address reservation” doesn’t work properly. 6. On top of all of this, the Deco App requires constant refreshing to even say the nodes are connected properly. I tried resolving these issues for about a month, and then switched back to my old setup (which worked great). Then I bought a newer setup (UniFi). Which is now working better than ever. Steer clear of these TP Deco Routers!!

    Terrible WiFi

    First things first this device feels extremely cheap and doesn't work right at all. Once I hooked everything up, devices kept connecting and disconnecting and the speed is extremely slow. Took it back and got the Eero mesh network and that is working so much better compared to this. Save your money and time. Don't buy this trash.

    If you can spell 'network' stay away

    If you do more than watch t*kt0k on your phone, stay away. You cant change the subnet like EVERY OTHER manufacturer allows. Its called "Pro" which would make you think that someone who understands networks would want it. False advertising in my opinion. I had to factory reset no less than 5 times just to complete setup. This used to be a respected network gear company. Now I'll avoid them at all costs.

    Mesh Routing System Did Not Work Well For Me

    Worked great for 6 months, then wireless network became extremely unstable dropping devices every few minutes. Deco app said firmware was up-to-date, but newer firmware was available on TP-Link website....didn't help. Support was useless. Extremely disappointed, especially given the cost of this thing.

    Worst Mesh I have Ever Owned

    DO NOT BUY this product, unless you want a very unstable and unreliable wifi. It crashes every single day, for long periods. I have tried every troubleshooting technique out there, I upgraded my speeds, and nothing will ensure this product works properly. I'm outside of my return window so now I have a very expensive paper weight.

    I recently moved into a new house... I had a UniFi system at my old house, with each AP hard wired back to a POE switch. Running ethernet at the new house was cost prohibitive. Using this system I am able to utilize the WiFi 6 backhaul to get not only blazing fast and rock solid wifi performance throughout my house, the satellite units also expose the network on the ethernet ports... so you can use ethernet devices on them! While this is an expensive system, it is cheaper than my old UniFi system, is cheaper than retro-fitting my house with ethernet, and is faster (than my unifi)!

      If you are using the 6 GHz band, and have it configured with the same SSID as the 2.4 GHz and 5GHz bands, please try assigning it a unique SSID to see if the symptoms persist.

    When they work they are fine. Unfortunately their reliability is awful. We have frequent disconnect and speed issues even wired. Furthermore there is a well documented issue about the LAN ports simply not working.

    My 5 year old orbi was much better than this i get 1 gig from my isp my patio 35 feet from back of house i got 280 down 300 up with orbi with tp oro 75 6up 2 down returned it

    Junk -Do Not Buy

    Terrible product, my WiFi constantly drops, one or two decos will just lose WiFi connection even though it’s hard wired to the AT&T modem/router. I end up having to reboot the deco to restore WiFi. I confirmed that my internet was working. Messaging support they try to have me t/s my modem which is working fine. Then they tell me to swap the deco’s around. Great so now WiFi on main works but I have random the others randomly lose WiFi so I basically spent money on a paper weight.

      Hi,

      Thank you for sharing your experience with our product. It sounds like your cable modem's MAC (Media Access Control) binding needs to be released and renewed so it can provide an IP address (and Internet) to the Deco Mesh system. This can typically be done using the following steps:

      1. Unplug the power from both your main Deco and cable modem
      2. Unplug the coax cable from the modem
      3. Re-connect power ONLY to your cable modem
      4. Wait until the cable modem is fully booted, then re-connect coax
      5. Re-connect power to the main Deco and connect it to the modem via Ethernet

      This process should release and renew the MAC binding, so your modem can provide connectivity to the Deco Mesh System.     This item is a piece of junk. Devices disconnect randomly and the speed is very poor. Google reddit reviews to see more for yourself - I'm confident this isnt a "me" issue as it seems to be pervasive with others using this setup. Best Buy's return policy on something they sell that takes days-weeks to diagnose is terrible too and they shouldn't be selling products that dont work as advertised.

    Can't get to work with Starlink

    I am using the Starlink ethernet adapter and this mesh system won't connect to the internet. I move it to another that has ATT internet and it connects with no issues. Really disappointed as reviews on other sites suggested this was one of the best for starlink. I tried contacting tp link support and reply email advised they would respond in 1 bus day... That was a joke, no reply and no help. Probably going to return unless geek squad can fix.

    Terrible coverage, mesh is useless. Better coverage with WiFi 5 router and an extender. Horrible Ping time, dropped signal and poor refresh rate. Signal test says nothing but testing using a WiFi network analyzer shows how bad it is

    I can’t review the product because the store doesn’t care enough to get it to my house. The store in Sherman Tx has terrible customer service. My appointment for install was scheduled and then canceled without my notification. Regardless of the reason for cancellation, some type of notification was merited.
