This 2TB 980 Pro is working well with my PS5. I have played games, transferred, and downloaded many content on this SSD. So far I have used the 980 Pro for around 10 hours on my PS5 and I did not experience any errors or abnormal behaviors. Read and write is fast. I do not have a heat sink attached to it. Sony recommend having a heat sink and I would do just that. It will help with heat. One of the features this 980 Pro has is heat management. It is nickel coated to keep the heat down on the controller. For me, I am temporarily using two small desk top fan to cool the PS5. I can feel the air where my chair is. The fan is powerful but small and quite. The console itself is cool to the touch and never feel warm. I keep the console on top of my desk in a well ventilated area. I will order a heat sink and attached it to the 980 Pro in the future. I am not worried about thermal because the PS5 is cool to the touch, the read and write speed is still fast after long period of use, and I have not experience any lag or longer loading time after long hours of runtime. Working flawless and I am happy with the speed and storage capacity. Only thing I could think of that I am not happy right away is the price but SSD around this performance at the time of doing this review, is similar cost. You get what you paid for. Higher cost, should yield higher quality and performance and this 980 Pro is worth the price after you get over yourself for spending the same amount on this SSD compared to a digital PS5 lol.

Easy to install for blistering speeds. I have two of these drives, one for the PC & one waiting for Playstation to unlock the NVME slot interally for expanddd storage. My PC has this 980 2TB drive as well as a 970 Plus 1TB drive, along side two EVO sata ssd drives from Samsung, a 2TB & a 4TB QVO. Samsung's drive software is simple to use and read/write speeds are amazingly fast. Just remember to check your motherboard if you install mkre than one NVME drive in your multiple slots or if you use a PCI Adapter for a second as you will normally lose a few sata lanes and need to make sure you are using the correcg ones so that you get the full potential of all of your drives. If you want or need super fast storage, this drive and the 970 models are both great choices. If you are waiting for Playstation to open up your option to add a NVME drive, this 980 should meet all gen 4 specs.
