A: I'm a fairly new owner of this unit so I don't consider myself an expert... but, as I understand it, there are two water collection systems linked to different functions. When running the unit in air conditioner mode, a smaller amount of water is collected in the bottom pan of the unit. Natural evaporation, aided by some of the warmth and air movement generated by the running unit, would normally take care of that water collection... unless one happened to be in an EXTREMELY humid environment. In that case, it is possible to drain that pan. The second collection area is linked to the dehumidifier function of the unit, which one can choose to run. Since the purpose of that function is specifically to remove moisture from the air, it collects more water in the upper chamber, which would need to be drained on a regular basis. Note that there is a standard bushing to accept a short length of hose for the purpose of draining... not a removable collection container. I drain mine into a bucket with a short length of hose, though you could roll it to a floor drain or roll it to an outside door and use the hose to drain the water into the lawn.

Very nice, solid build. It does the job of cooling down the room quickly. Simple setup porting to the window. More than enough accessories are provided and are of good quality. This is way more preferred to a window unit! Really, the only issue it has for me is the cover vibrating (when the compressor kicks in.) Adding a little mass to the sides (mass-tape) quiets it right down. I haven't used all of its modes - I just start it cooling and walk away. It's standing on a board, not carpet, and it rolls very easy. For that reason, I prefer to use the remote. The remote is easy to read and is kept at the other end of the room. It comes with a clear hose to drain any water down to a bin. It's hooked up but hardly anything, if anything, drains out. At the end of June when the humidity climbs there might be more water collected.

The unit was very easy to install. I bought it to keep my kitchen cool while I cook in the summer time. Best idea ever! It worked so well at cooling off the area even though I had the oven going and it was about 97 out. The best part is that I can easily take it to my living room once I’m done in the kitchen. It has wheels for smooth moving across my apartment from one room to the next. I love this AC! Side note, put the hose in a bucket to collect the water that drips. I only realized that after…
