A fiber cable with a TOSLINK connector, also called an optical audio cable, is used in many home theater systems or home sound systems. It will carry high-quality sound from a television, video game console, DVD player or other device to the audio receiver, which communicates with your home audio system’s speakers.
Meanwhile, an HDMI connector is common for carrying visual and audio signals in one cable. Fiber optic HDMI cables can support greater speeds and data loads than many other HDMI cables, meaning you will benefit from one if you want to play movies at the highest resolution on a 4K TV or an 8K TV.
When you are choosing a new audio system for your home or setting up a home entertainment center, you can always seek expert advice and installation assistance from professional home theater and audio services. That way, you can make sure every component, including optical audio cables, is properly installed for the best possible sound performance.
