The Smart Folio for iPad Pro is constructed from a single piece of polyurethane to protect the front and back of your device. It automatically wakes your iPad Pro when opened and puts it to sleep when closed. You can easily fold the Smart Folio into different positions to create a stand for reading, viewing, typing, or making FaceTime calls.
I had bought a $20 case from Amazon that was just okay, it was a little too thick and the cover didn’t stay flush or connected to the back like I wanted. I thought I would give the Apple case a try and it’s exactly what I was hoping for. It’s incredibly thin, you barely notice it’s on. And when the cover is open it sits flush with the back and stays that way magnetically. I like that the back also connects magnetically. Just like the smart covers, it’s a great stand too. It’s exactly what I wanted and it’s worth the price, at least to me.
I was skeptical about paying the asking price for this cover. Was pleasantly surprised that the lid sticks to the back of the cover via magnets, versus hanging off the back line my budget cover does. Minimalist and lightweight.
I really liked this case- great for desk and table. Not ideal for lounging. It’s hard to keep it sitting upright if you want to use it while it’s sitting on your lap. A bit pricey but super thin and light weight!
It works great and is easy to put on. I love how it can stand and support itself. One thing I’m not so sure about is the protection. I don’t think it will protect my IPad that well but then again I haven’t dropped it or anything so I can’t say for sure. If you want a great Apple product go for it but if you’re more concerned about guaranteed protection look for something else.
A:AnswerIt will protect both devices to an extent, this isn't an Otterbox. The camera on the 3rd gen is different than the 4th gen but it will work for this case, if you were to put the 3rd gen, in this case, there would be a small gap of space on the backside because this case is intended for the 4th gen but they would both get the correct coverage for device protection it would just look odd with a gap of space on the backside with the 3rd gen.
