Q: QuestionDoes the Asus - BW-12B1ST Internal Blu-ray Writer - OEM Pack contain any software for viewing and/or operating blu-ray media?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer No, OEM drives do not come with Blu-ray viewing software. It does come with software to burn CD/DVD/BD, however, any Blu-ray viewing software would need to be obtained prior to viewing Blu-ray movies on this drive.

Q: QuestionSupported FormatsDoes this drive support 3D disk playback? I just ordered a BW-12B1ST/BLK/G/AS and have seen literature stating that it does and not listed in other.

- A:Answer One of the minimum requirements to play a BD 3D disc is a 2x and up BD-ROM optical drive. This model has 8X read so it’s more than enough. You’ll also need to have playback software, video card/3D kit and monitor that are 3D capable. Q: QuestionHow important is buffer if you are only burning CD/DVD?Asus - BW-12B1ST Internal Blu-ray Writer - OEM Pack has a 8mb buffer, Asus - BC-12B1ST Internal Blu-ray Reader/DVD-Writer - Bulk Pack has 2. If I do not plan to burn BD, should I still go with the larger buffer for a gaming computer I am building?
Asked by BOB.
- A:Answer The hard drive reads more in advance and it can take up to 2MB unit buffer. The higher the buffer, the better especially for BDs. If you're not planning to buy or upgrade within the next 12 months or so, then get the BW-12B1ST. But if you do not plan to burn BD anytime soon, then the BC-12B1ST would suffice. This model is enough to read BD as well as write DVDs and CDs only.

Q: QuestionI would like to know , is it Windows 10 ?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Most internal drives work very well with Windows 10. Some external DVD drives have issues, but like running ANY disc-based movie with Windows 10, you have to get an external program to play them, as Windows 10 does not come with any support for playing DVD's, and this would go for Blu-ray as well. If you have the right software installed, such as VLC, there are associated plug-ins available for watching Blu-rays with said players.

Q: QuestionWhat are the system requirements for this?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The only system requirements are that you have an available SATA port and cable to install this Blu-ray drive into your desktop.
