• The only system requirements are that you have an available SATA port and cable to install this Blu-ray drive into your desktop.

• The disk space, OS, etc requirements in the previous answer probably apply not to the drive itself, but to the software that comes bundled with it, which is of course optional and not required to use the drive either for reading or writing.
