Definitely worth it Gaming Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its a great laptop. I was skeptical at first from some reviews on youtube but i got it anyway. It was well worth it. I am able tk play any game I want and still have the probability of a laptop. Only issue so far is when I close it while its one and open it a while later, it never wakes up. But its a small issue that doesnt bother me since I always turn it off when im not using it. Great laptop

Awesome laptop!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: Beautiful screen Great high performing hardware Fantastic gaming on max settings for the most demanding games. Fun LEDs. Great low running temps. Cons: 16gb ram is too low. System needs more to avoid bottlenecking. Weak speakers. They're not the worst but I get a lot better sound quality and volume out of my headset than the main speakers. Heavy. A gaming system this good needs a lot of heavy hardware to run well and cool. Windows 11. The newest windows that ships on it isn't the worst but it's not all that and a bag of chips either.

It’s good, but I’m going MSI next time
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I want to start by saying that this is a beast of a machine. The specs don’t lie, and the machine itself is very decent. It advertises that it stays cool and quiet, and I am surprised by how true it is. This is (temp-wise) the coolest running laptop I’ve ever felt, even when I’m putting it through heck. My last MSI wasn’t very loud either, so it’s a little harder for me to judge that. This is far cooler than my last one, and I can actually play demanding games on my lap. I’ve found the Asus suite of software to be the least user-friendly of all high performance gaming laptop suites. The way multiple programs almost interweave, but not well enough is more frustrating than helpful. Setting game-specific control/color schemes is a huge pain. I ended up to uninstalling quite a bit of their software too, as it bogged down performance and added nothing positive to my experience (what is up with that weird Bonsai Buddy-esque mouse thing???). It all feels clunky and junky, and I’m not a fan whatsoever. Sound through tiny laptop speakers is never fabulous, but these are some of the best tiny laptop speakers I’ve heard. Not bad at all, but I’d still recommend getting nice headphones or speakers for some real sound. The screen is crisp, clear, and colorful, but without that over-the-top artificial feeling. Pretty nice display, and I wouldn’t ask for anything different there. Rather trivial, but I think that the RGB keyboard possibilities are far more limited than most. Patterns are done by 3 or 4 large boxy zones, and specific keys or even rows cannot be set, which is a little lame. Pretty unimpressive to me. I don’t doubt I will get my money’s worth from this PC, but I don’t think I’ll get another Asus. The suite of software is what sets an Asus PC apart from another brand’s with the same specs, and Asus doesn’t seem to have their software figured out. Overall, it’s a good PC that happens to suffer slightly from the fact that it’s an Asus. If your priority is to have a low-temp laptop, this might be the answer you’ve been looking for. If you want to customize and make everything about your PC your own, I’d look elsewhere.

Q: QuestionHow long does the battery last on a full charge?
Asked by FoxtheFluff.
- A:Answer Base on what I get, if you put it on the Silent mode with only Intergrated Graphic Card being used, the device could last up to 3 hours or maybe more depend on what you use it on.

Q: QuestionWhich series is better? The Strix or the Zepherus? I need design computer that can handle video editing and it looks like the Strix can only handle 32Gigs and the Zepherus can handle 64 Gigs. Asus site would indicate the Strix is better but not sure.
Asked by JoBo.
- A:Answer Not sure where you got your data, but yes, the Strix is better than the Zephyrus - and I’m assuming you’re talking about this model Strix G17 versus the 14” Zephyrus G14 that Best Buy sells - the larger Zephyrus is Intel based and would be like comparing Oranges to Mangoes). The Walmart Strix version you mention uses the 4060 vs 4070 GPU and uses the 12-core version of the 16-core Strix AMD CPU. Ignoring the GPU diff, the Walmart CPU is about 20% slower than the 16-core one (assuming you can use all 16/12 cores, respectively). The CPU in the 2023 Zephyrus G14 has 8 cores, not 16 cores. It works out that the Zephyrus CPU is about half as fast as the Ryzen 9 7945HX CPU in this Strix (note that other configs are available on Asus and other sites). The 7945HX is the fastest laptop chip available in late 2023. That makes the Zephyrus G14 CPU half as fast as the fastest laptop, but still no slouch - probably faster than 90% of laptops being sold today. As far as memory, the Strix handled 64 GB just fine. It is also proven to handle SSDs up to 8 TB. BB offers only one flavor I guess. You have to upgrade yourself or have your friendly Geek Squad do it.

Q: QuestionLaptop has SO-DIMM ram slots, right?
Asked by oleg.
- A:Answer The Asus answer is partly correct in that it does have two slots for two RAM cards. But there is no real reason not to put in two 32 GB RAMs in those slots for a total of 64 GB. You throw away existing RAM. If you’re nervous about doing it, buy the RAM from BB and pay Geek Squad to install it. They will no doubt test that it works.

Q: QuestionDoes this have M.2 expansion slots?
Asked by Luis.
- A:Answer Two total, system disk in one, one empty. If you wanna upgrade system disk, gotta clone windows onto new SSD, but you can just put an SSD into 2nd slot - probabably up to 8 TB but 2-4 TB more economical.
