Hard to organize
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I researched fridges for a very long time before buying this one. After a few months of use, I find that this beautiful fridge is a) hard for me to organize and b) hard to clean. Some of this may be endemic to the French door style, but because there is so little tall item space, I have to keep the sliding shelf back to fit all my taller items. That means every medium-sized item that goes behind them gets buried and forgotten. There just isn't enough shelf space, so I am constantly piling things carefully and that's not working for me. I do like the small extra bins at the bottom of the doors, which are great for those very small odd items. it is also much harder to get drawers out for cleaning than I would like. I do like the two door freezer but you have to be careful not to have things stick up or they will catch and jam the doors. I have another fridge/freezer plus a full freezer, so I use this one for convenience. They would be too small otherwise. Bottom line - great fridge for those who don't have a ton of food and leftover containers (or fewer than 4 in your family). Cools well, designed well. For those with lots of food or a family of 4 or more, buy a bigger fridge. It may be that French door styles just hold less because the doors are less functional.

Shelves crack
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Keeps a consistent temperature, and we really like the counter depth. Unfortunately several shelves started cracking within a few years. See attached photo. Very disappointing. We purchased this refrig (actually two of them) in 2017 as part of a kitchen remodel where we installed all Bosch appliances. Almost every one of them suffered a failure within a few years, but of course outside of warranty. See my other reviews on the Best Buy site. Bosch is no longer a quality manufacturer.

Looks beautiful but hard to maintain.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This refrigerator is gorgeous bit it I super hard to maintain. The two drawer freezer seems good in theory but there just isn’t enough space. It is also super hard to clean and the top shelf is almost useless.

excellent refrigerator
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We were looking for a really good refrigerator with excellent internal components, which we got in the Bosch appliance. Very happy with the 4 door configuration. Our salesman in the Paramus store was very helpful in identifying the best refrigerator for our needs and price range.

Good refrigerator but missing an important feature
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We wanted a good counter-depth refrigerator for a kitchen remodel that was also reasonably priced, and this fit the bill. So far we've been very happy with it. That said, it is missing one important feature: thermometers for the refrigerator and freezer. The display you see in the brochure is only for setting the temperature -- it does not show current temperature. So, you need to purchase separate thermometers. We've had refrigerators at half the price that had built-in thermometers.

Don't Buy a Bosch Refrigerator - Poor Quality!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our Bosch refrigerator lasted from May 2019 to Nov 2021, when it failed completely. Poorly applied insulation in the refrigerator (unrepairable) allowed condensation to form on the electronics board. Bosch was of ZERO help. Bosch is a poor quality brand!

Q: QuestionI have a three year old Bosch frig with internal ice maker. It recently started to freeze all the ice together. It appears that the ice maker is dumping water into the tray and all freezes together. The temp reads -3 . The frig 40 degrees.
Asked by Bosch.
- A:Answer OK I have diagnosed the problem - the ice tray flexes to empty the ice. The issue is the tray has a rectangular slot in the back of the tray which connects to the dump motor. The plastic tray breaks at that slotted point thus not able to flex and empty the tray. Its a bad/poor design in my opinion with no reinforcement around the slot in the tray to take the stress of the motor flexing the tray. My temp solution was to wrap electrical tape around the back of the tray to hold it together and still dump ice but its intermittent so I still get overflows, until you can get a replacement tray PN BSH-12017983 $24. I will report back once I have the tray, but I also ordered the complete ice maker for $133 too just in case. Also another tip - clean the tray and polish it with some carnuba wax (car polish) which is non toxic helps ice release and improve the dumping action, sort of like a laxative for your ice maker!

Q: QuestionHi There, we've had our Bosch fridge for about a year and suddenly the ice maker stopped working. Are there any troubleshooting tips?
Asked by IceMakerNotWorking.
- A:Answer Great question, we have owned or Bosch same amount of time and have same problem. I’ve looked both online Manuel’s and you tube... the closest thing I could figure is that temperature might be part of problem...I tried turning fridge up 38degrees and freezer 5 degrees . It’s kinda works , I keep pressing ice maker on???? If u find better answer , please let me know.

Q: QuestionWe’ve been experiencing issues with our ice maker. How can I determine if the ice maker is on or off? The Ice Maker On/Off button located in the refrigerator only illuminates when I press it. Therefore I’m not sure if it was already on or not.
Asked by Boschowner5.
- A:Answer When you press the ice maker switch off/then on, it should be lit and stay lit. Our 3 yr old Bosch has been finnicky as well - so to "engage" it I turn off/on to kick start the ice maker - for some reason the main board signal IMO is telling it its full of ice when its not. We had a problem early on - low ice production two/three trays a day at most. So I did a hard power reset (turned the breaker on/off) and let the fridge reset. That seemed to cure the issue. The other issue as you may read below posts is the flex tray design is a poor one - our tray broke where the motor engaged the flex tray slot ( a very poor design with limited reinforcement on the flex tray) so I have a modification in mind when I get my new ice trays - I have two on order now and a complete ice maker too ($24 for the tray, $130 for the complete ice maker.). The kicker is Bosch DIRECT service wanted $129 for the service call, then $40 per 15 minutes on site, PLUS parts $250 for the ice maker. Total $500-700 and our third party warranty service denied the claim - they would pay for the service call to diagnose - then the Bosch tech was to submit an estimate, ONLY then would they approve the claim. So this is when I decided to dig deeper and figure out the issue. If you are still under warranty use it -and make sure you record each issue and get a warranty extension on the part replaced in the event it happens again.

Q: QuestionI have the Bosch 800 series refrigerator - it hardly makes any ice and the temperature does not stay lit up - is this normal? Thank you
Asked by nhc.
- A:Answer I do not have mine hooked up to a water line so can not help you with the ice question. Concerning the temperature not staying lit up mine does not either. It only lights up when you press it to let you know what temperature you want to set it at. It is not meant to tell you the current temperature. I have purchased 2 thermometers (1 for the refrigerator and 1 for the freezers) so that I can keep track of the actual temperature. Had to set the refrigerator at 38 instead of the original 39 to keep it in the proper safe zone.

Q: QuestionMy icemaker tends to drop cubes down the back. I just pulled 23 cubes from below the bottom drawer that had dropped on the actual floor of the freezer. Seems like there should be a guard. Has this issue been fixed?
Asked by NorthCarolina.
- A:Answer same problem with Bosch B36CT. Makes too much ice. There is no little wire sensor bar to adjust to decrease amount of ice stored in bin, much falls out the back when freezer drawer is opened.
