Movie Theater Quality Subwoofer
|Posted .I paired this Bose 700 Subwoofer with my Bose 700 Soundbar and it has been really impressive so far, here is what I have experienced so far: PROS: - Out of the box this thing is visually very appealing. It's somewhat smaller than previous wireless subwoofer's that I have had, but it's by far the heaviest one I have had. - It is very simple to set up, you do it all through the Bose Mobile App that is required to set up the Soundbar and Subwoofer - The Sound / Bass is absolutely incredible. It really acts as a deep, rich aspect of your music or movie listening experience rather than over doing it and drowning out the noise. It really helps you feel apart of the sound and I am really happy with it's performance so far CONS: - Although set up was simple, getting there was not. The Bose App was difficult to work with at first and to discover my products. Once I got connected it was easy - so really this is a software related function more so than the device itself, so it could be fixed with an App Update. - Part of me likes how they are selling the Bose 700 Soundbar and 700 Subwoofer separately as some may only want the soundbar and want to save money. But to me it's really necessary for them to be paired together and it is pricey all together. - Speaking of Price, this a high end home theater system Bose is selling and they chose NOT to incorporate Dolby Atmos? That is swing and a miss to me - if they added Dolby Atmos I think it would attract even more buyers given the market push for this type of sound format. BOTTOM LINE: If you purchased the Bose 700 Soundbar, this is a must have. Although it's lacking Dolby Atmos support, it still sounds so good that it will really elevate everything you listen to through this speaker system and be worth the purchase.

Omnidirectional, Distortion Free Bass
|Posted .The reverberating companion to the SoundTouch 300 Soundbar is this Acoustimas 300 Wireless Bass Module for even more electrifying listening enjoyment. It weighs 30 pounds and is, 12” W x 12” L x 15” H, containing a 10” woofer. For its compact size it packs a lot of audio engineering by Bose. It easily pairs, wirelessly, to the 300 Soundbar using the remote, included with the soundbar. The intensity level of the bass can also be increased or decreased by using the remote. At the Bose 'Support Center' you can download the Owners Guide for the Acoustimas 300 Wireless Bass Module. It is very comprehensive, detailed and includes many illustrations. If you have any issues you may find the solutions there, or, in the Owners' Community Blog. I consider myself an 'audiophile' with over 50 years of amateur experience in building Hi-Fidelity, stereo systems. This is my summary of this fantastic soundbar and subwoofer pairing. Keep in mind the Bose 300 Bass Module is built and configured specifically to operate with the SoundTouch 300 Soundbar. It is not a subwoofer component that you can use in any other system. The Acoustimas 300 is a wireless, powered subwoofer, which has its own built-in amplifier. This powered amp takes the load away from the smaller speakers in the soundbar when low frequency sound is reproduced in the bass module. Because bass demands more power at low frequencies, 20Hz to 80Hz, and less power as the frequency increases. The smaller speakers in the soundbar start to take over around 90Hz using Bose' PhaseGuide technology, which makes you feel like you are hearing sounds from areas of your room where there are no speakers. In my opinion one of the best characteristics of a good subwoofer is that it doesn't emit 'boomy' and late sounds out of sync with the satellite speakers (soundbar) at low frequency. Because of Bose Quiet Port technology this subwoofer module produces clear, vibrant, omnidirectional bass that you can't even tell where the low frequency sound is coming from. It surrounds your whole room, especially, after you calibrate both the soundbar and bass module using the proprietary, ADAPTIQ Calibration process. YooHoo! This is the primary reason why the Acoustimas 300 Bass Module compliments the soundbar to provide you with richer, more vibrant, realistic sounds that the soundbar alone can duplicate. The Bose Acoustimas 300 accomplishes that with success. And the construction of the bass module with its unique glass top probably has a lot to do with the amazing, crisp and deep, distortion free bass. This matched system was designed for you to conveniently connect to the ARC, HDMI port from your TV. It takes no power from your TV just the acoustical pass through signal. The Bose 300 Soundbar and Bass Module do not require connection to an A/V Receiver or Amplifier. However, you can connect the Bose 300 Soundbar to an A/V Receiver if you have the appropriate connections. I connected my A/V Receiver to the 300 Soundbar and was floored by the dynamic, awesome, sound. Since the bass module does not have an LFE port it cannot be connected to the A/V Receiver, but still operated through the soundbar. Although I have a graphic equalizer in my receiver, I did not need to use it. Instead I tried enhancing the sound through the various audio presets like concert hall, arena, movie, theater, gaming, etc. Unbelievable. WooHoo! The Acoustimas 300 does have a power saving mode so you can safely keep the unit plugged in all the time to an A/C outlet. It powers itself 'down' when not receiving a signal from the soundbar. While on the subject of 'Power' - I want to bring up surge protection for your home theater, TV, Bose SoundTouch 300 Soundbar and Acoustimas 300, and all other associated electronics. Protect your expensive, electronic equipment with appropriate surge protection. Better protectors exceed peak ratings of 1000 joules and 40,000 amperes. The higher the rating in joules, and the lower the let-through voltage, the better you are protecting your devices. The 300 soundbar, 300 bass module, subwoofer, and two optional, wireless speakers can all be protected using surge strips or a space-saving surge protector that sits over an existing wall outlet. It is too risky to go without it. If you take anything away from my review – please, consider adequate surge protection for your audio and electronic equipment. If you already have the SoundTouch 300 Soundbar, then the Acoustimas 300 Wireless Bass Module by now is a 'Must-Have'. I highly recommend the Acoustimas 300 Wireless Bass Module because of its significant, audio engineering features. No matter where you place this unit in your room you will not be able to tell where the dynamic sounds are coming from. It won't rattle your windows, or break glass, but it will provide you with quality, distortion free, acoustically matched music enjoyment. By adding the Invisible 300 wireless surround speakers you can also create a true 5.1 channel system of auditory sensation.

Punchy full spectrum bass cube that delivers
|Posted .First, I would like to recommend that if you are interested in this Bass Module that you pair it with the excellent Bose Soundbar 700. It is a match made in heaven that delivers high-fidelity sound in any application. This review was written with perspective on the entire Bose 700 system (Soundbar 700 & Bass Module 700). Music is my life. I’ve been a musician for over 40 years and through that time I have developed a trained ear when it comes to sound. Up until now, I have always had components and separate speakers for surround. Enter the Bose 700 system. This Bass Module coupled with the excellent Bose 700 Soundbar, has made me rethink what is needed to achieve a fantastic result. So much, that I have dis-assembled my entire “man cave” surround stereo setup in favor of this simple, but elegant Bose system. What was once a receiver controlling all of my components, center channel, two main speakers, and two rear surround speakers, has simply become this two piece setup. Being clutter free and having less is more is important to us these days, as we have a one year old that can easily knock over speaker stands and much, much more. The sub and soundbar are crafted extremely well and are very solid in terms of hardware feel. They are both made of aluminum and have a black glass top which makes them super stout and easy to keep clean. The soundbar is about 38.5 inches wide and the sub is roughly a 12” cube in size. Both items blend in with any decor and look so good that you’ll want them to be seen. The remote is also very nice and with the Bose Music app you’ll have your Smart TV, Blu Ray, PS4, XBox, etc., all configured and working from this single remote in no time. A note on the Bose Music app / Alexa… Some reviewers have stated that the app needs a lot of work and that they can’t get it to work properly with any of their components and/or Alexa (more on Alexa later). I am not sure if recent updates have now solved the issues others have reported, but I have found this to be no issue whatsoever. I had Alexa, my Samsung TV, PS4, and SONY Blu Ray player all recognized and set up within minutes of downloading the app. FWIW, I am using a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 with Android 8.0 Setting up your system… This system is ARC ready and will control all of your HDMI devices with ease. A quick web search will tell you everything you need to know about ARC and its benefits. When setting up your room, I highly recommend using the ADAPTIQ audio calibration system tool (provided in package) to “tune” your room. Every room is a different size and provides seating in different areas, making this step an important step in your setup. Once your room is tuned, everyone will enjoy great sound from any seat in the room. It is actually crazy how this two piece system can mimic an entire surround system so effectively. This is yet another reason why I was okay with getting rid of so many speakers to go down to this small system. The ever important sound quality... Being a new Bose product, I was expecting it to sound good, but not as good as it really does. Once properly configured, I was shocked at the clear crisp sound this combo was producing. The first thing I did was load up an HD title to test. The voice channel is superbly clear and punctual. The mains are full and have the perfect amount of depth. The sub connects to the soundbar wirelessly and provides the exact amount of bass needed to produce a cinema like experience. Whether watching a Superhero movie, listening to music, or getting a quick weather forecast from Alexa, you will be satisfied with the Bose 700 system. In the case of the Bose 700 system, size certainly does not matter. Long gone are the days of 15” main speakers. Through brainiac engineering and technological innovation, these days you can get impressive results from a much smaller footprint. Alexa… To be honest, this was not a big reason for me choosing this product, but now that I have it and have used it, I am not sure how I ever lived without it. We have been invited to upgrade our homes into smart homes more and more lately and I am slowly understanding why. Ease of use and quickness in our fast paced society is the bottom line with the way tech is trending. Being an Alexa noob, I am still scratching the surface of what it can offer, but I can see how huge the potential is. A good example of what I did once I had her all setup, was to simply try and ask her something, anything. I chose what came to mind first and said, “Alexa, play Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd.” Well guess what! She did it without fail, repeating / confirming to me, “Playing Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd on Amazon Music.” Hahaha, so awesome. I dialed up some Rolling Stones, some kids music, whatever I asked for, she found it. I even tried saying, “Alexa, turn volume up five” and she did that too. If you get the chance to mess with this, or if you are buying this system because of the fact that it is Alexa ready, you won’t be disappointed. If your store has this on demo, do yourself a favor and give that button a press. I can’t recommend this product enough.

Excellent Subwoofer from Bose with Amazing Bass
|Posted .Bose Acoustimass 300 Subwoofer is excellent subwoofer and it is exceeded my expectation when it paired with Bose Soundtouch 300 sound bar. The packing was excellent and unpacking was very pleasant. I am impressed by the design of this subwoofer, weighing in at nearly 40 pounds and with the dimensions of a small table. The premium glass-top smooth exterior look stunning. Setup is very easy and able to configure with Bose Soundtouch 300 sound bar. Just follow the instructions given in manual and you should be sync the subwoofer with sound bar less than two minutes. As for as the bass itself, it can only be described as clear and powerful. Similar like Bose Soundtouch 300 sound bar, the audio feels as if it is coming from all around you instead of from a single point. This is due to “quietport” technology from Bose. The Adding Acoustimass 300 module to your SoundTouch 300 soundbar is a perfect combination for your home theater experience. You can add Virtually Invisible 300 wireless surround speakers can complete the package for a full 5.1 surround sound experience. Similar like Acoustimass Subwoofer module, these wireless surround speakers have a wireless range of 30 feet. They stand less than 4" high and blend nicely into your room. This is the best subwoofer made by Bose. I highly recommend this subwoofer to get premium sound quality and theater sound experience for your home theater setup.

Awesome Bass Module!
Posted .Bose Bass module 700 is a perfect companion for Bose Soundbar 700. Similar to the Soundbar, this bass module comes in a very sturdy box and has the same tempered glass top. Bass module is heavy so watch your back when you pick it up. The size is perfect and it easily blended in my living room with other electronics and furniture items. The product has a nice clean seamless look and the connections are on the back at the bottom. I have also added pictures to give readers an idea of the size of bass module. In the box you will also find power cord and instruction/safety booklet. Setup & Sound: Bose bass module 700 is easy to set up using the Bose music App. Once you connect the bass module to the power supply and place it at your desired location, you add the bass module as an accessory to your Soundbar in the Bose music app. That is it. The Soundbar and Bass module are wirelessly connected. A quick calibration using AdaptIQ can further improve the sound experience. Once connected, the Bass module produces chest thumping bass to give a fuller effect to the sound. I did not experience any lag/skipping between Soundbar and bass module as I used it for movies, music and even cartoons :-) . Another feature of the Bose music app is that you can increase/decreases the bass through the app to suit it to your needs. This bass module can definitely shake your floor during a Boeing take off, or will make your popcorn's fly away during those scary movie nights. Overall, an amazing product and a perfect Soundbar companion. A must buy!
