A: Since this camcorder records to an SD card it should be compatible with an iMAC. You will need a card reader to be able to get the files from the SD Card.

A: Not sure exactly why but on two different web sites the user rating seems to be the same - two stars. One of the knocks against this camcorder is the lack of an optical zoom. Digital zoom has no where near the quality of an optical zoom. However, user reviews cannot always be trusted. Check out reviews from other sites and look for YouTube videos created using this camcorder and then decide whether or not the two star reviews are justified.
