A:AnswerI recently inquired with Spectrum about downloading the Spectrum TV app to my Fire TV and was told it is not available on that platform. I was also told that the app does not have the capability to cast from your phone to your Fire TV or Apple TV. I haven’t tried but this is what Spectrum customer service told me.

A:AnswerYou need good hi speed internet and a good wifi network if you are not running an ethernet cable from your cable modem to the TV.
You may still need to get a streaming device like the FireStick or Roku.
I am doing a free trial of Youtube TV which for $50 a month gives you 70 channels including local networks. Youtube TV can play on Vizio Smartcast TV's and 2016 or newer LG or Samsung TV's without a streaming device like the Firestick.
Our neighbors cut the cord and use Hulu Live TV for their internet channels.
For my 2500 sf house I bought a Arris SB6190 Cable Modem and Google Nest Mesh Wifi router with one added network "point" both at best buy. My internet has been very good and it has been working well with the Youtube TV, Amazon Prime and Netflix, etc.
I am trying a Roku streaming stick out that I got at best buy. I also have an Amazon Fire Stick 4k on order. I have all dumb TVs so I need streaming devices for each one to make them SmartTVs.
I would check out the websites for YouTube TV and also Hulu Live TV.
I still need Xfinity for high speed internet but my bill should go down about $130 per month and that includes the cost of YouTube TV ($50/month) figured in.
