- Answer Yes. Apple has supported audio over lightning cables for a long time, even when they still had headphone jacks. I have an older iPad Pro and it works fine with it (just don’t need it).

- Answer The issue is the iPhone 7 no longer has a headphone jack. So if you want to use your old headphones you need this.
