“I have an old 27" Mac from 2012. Its still running. Can I use that as a monitor for the new mini with the M4 chip. Seem to be a waste to throw away the old 27". Can I use it for any other apple computer if the new mini is not compatible?”

I have a mid 2011 27" Mac and I've been told no to this question by Mac.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Unfortunately you can only run them with an old Mac or with some adapters. I agree with you, Apple should let you continue to use an old iMac as a monitor, but they’re in it for the $$
