• Yes, you can watch it in live mode and record it at the same time. In addition to watching & recording video, you can take snapshots while watching too

• In a way. If you have a rule enabled to record on motion, it will record but if you try to watch live, it will stop recording and let you view. However, you can hit the record button in the App or Web portal while viewing live and record and view that way.
