During day time, it's OK. During nighttime, you will need to turn of the night-vision and if the front yard is well lit, it will record. However, motion detection may not be reliable if you choose to install in this way. Other option would be to install it under eaves or overhangs, where it is well protected from rain.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it works fine depending on your window (sunlight reflections, moisture, etc.). If it is going through a nice clean window it should work fine. If you have any condensation on the window (inside) it may be distorted as it would with any camera.
