“I just bought the Arlo Q camera with a 2 yr geek squad warranty. I have noticed some significant lag time in viewing in live view as well as when set to motion activation. Is there anything to change this or are all cameras set up like this?”

The short answer is no. Unfortunately, because when viewing live view, you actually connect to Netgear servers, which then routes video back to you ...this lag is experienced from inherent network latency. This is well documented as a customer compliant on Arlo message boards, but Netgear as of date has yet to update their software to allow users to directly connect to the cameras (such as Motorola Baby video monitors do). At best Ive seen my lag average about 7 seconds.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Motion and Detection lag is normal in live view in all wifi/wireless enabled cameras whether it be Swann, Lorex, Arlo, etc. If you want no motion or audio lag, opt for a wired security camera that plugs directly to a DVR.
