• The 2.5Gbps speed is due to the 2.5Gb port available on this product. The speed of the device is rated for higher than 1Gbps plans by service providers. The download and upload speed is based on the service tier with your service provider, but DOCSIS 3.1 (as supported by this product) supports higher download and upload speeds.

• Unless your moving some heavy stuff, you'll never truly hit the 2500. It's supports up to 2.5g and I think that's the cap for 3.1 DOCIIS anyway.
